my daughter is flying to Greece on Iberia airlines......

Has anyone ever had any experience with this airline? I've never heard of it. It's a school trip that leaves Sat., so I'm not going to cancel now, but I am a bit worried about what kind of plane she'll be on. It stops at O'hare and in Madrid with hrs. of layovers. I'm sure they got the cheapest flight they could find. Just getting a bit nervous.

I am sure they will be fine. iberia has a decent record and athens has a new airport from the olympics--so all good!

Thatks for the info. I kiow she'll be fine, and it's a mom's place to worry. I am a professional worrier so that's what I do. Dad is out of town visiting an ill mom, so I'm a bit stressed right now. But I know she'll have a great trip. I just wish I could be there with her to enjoy this experience. I did that in Jr. High, but she needs to do this on her own. One more part of letting go of the people we cherish the most in our lives. She'll do great, just have to get over her leaving me. It's so not easy. She's my best friend. I'm the luckiest mom in t world.

You don't have to worry about Iberia.

Looking in the timetable I can see IB operates with airbus A340 to Madrid and airbus A321 to Athens. Safe aircrafts. She will have a great time.

Even though I retired 8 years ago, I remember Iberia Airlines as being a trustworthy airline when I was a travel consultant.

Talk about booking an airline I knew nothing about...once I was forced to book "Suckling Air" as a replacement for Air France flights that were cancelled because of a strike. This was for the chancellor of the local university and his 14 yr old grandson.

When they returned they said the flights were fine but the grandson said he would never tell his friends what airline he flew on. The chancellors secretary never let me live that one down!

Well, Ibeia got her to Greece.....in 25 hrs.....2 loooong layovers..........no sleep on the plane in spite of Ambian CR.

I get a call this morning. She's bawling like a 5 year old because the lense on her camera is broken. Like I can do something from here. I tell her to ask her teacher if they can get to a store and buy a new digital camera. Teacher is tired and pissy too and gives her some kind of crap. Anyway, I've spent the entire day worried sick that I just blew 2000. and she's going to have a terrible time.

But Iberia airlines was right on time and got them all their safely.

It is impossible to have a terrible time in Greece. It just doesn't happen. camera or not--she'll either get it fixed or borrow one or get a little instant one. Also, she was probably very tired and jet lagged when you spoke to her. so don't worry.

you cannot have a terrible time in Greece--it's just not allowed. I think they have ancient laws to that effect. or something 'terrible time' and 'greece' well it's practically oxymoronic! .
