Some highlights & shots of our visit

Post by Kathyzhere »

We arrived on Friday & stayed with Ronnie for 1 night @ The Crystal Palace in CA. He is a real friendly host and will arrange a pick up for you from the airport. We had dinner @ Cuzzins which is walking distance from the Palace and boy was that meal soooo good!! Island style meals and we tried out a few things for the 1st time...yummy! The atmosphere inside was real quaint and nice, definately recommend this place if you're in town. If you ever get the chance to buy or try Auntie's Rum Cakes in CA - go for it!! She was baking while we were @ the Palace so I bought one to go for hubs' b-day celebration on STJ and it was awesome...just melted in your mouth and not as strong tasting as say the Tortuga ones.

Okay, so next day was our run 'round buy supplies and meet up with some of our guests day. Over to STJ Sat afternoon....aaaahhhhhh 8)

I'm not going to do a blow-by-blow of our visit so here are some highlights.

Hubs' 50th b-day celebration aboard the M/Y Cinnamon Bay for the sunset on Sunday. Capn' Dan and 1st mate aka wife, Donna, were the BEST! We had such a fantastic time with them!! Sshhh, but I think I have a lil' crush on the Capn' Hubs already knows.

After a most beautiful time on the water we went to dinner @ Morgans Mango, which was just okay, but great company! Mostly chosen for the locale to the NP dock for our cruise.

Did the Rams Head hike with hubs, 2 of my brothers and my brother-in-law, yes I was the only female that wanted to do this one. Boy am I glad that I did cuz it was awesome! For one thing I enjoyed the challenge cuz basically most of my week is sitting on my butt @ a desk...so girlfriend was UP for a challenge! The views were breathtaking really. We met up with some hikers at the top and saw when we were looking back at them that they were pointing out towards us, but our backs were to whatever they were pointing at...DAMN if we knew that they just watched a whale breach!!! :x Here we are thinking they were waving at us

After our hearty hike to Rams Head we all headed to Skinny's for libations and burgers. I had the bleu cheese burger and after that hike, 2 Red Stripe and 2 Painkillers it was the yummiest burger ever

We had dinner @ Rhumblines and that was VERY tasty!! We had the cutest lil' waitress from Maine and the service was outstanding. We had a rez for 7:00 and it was kinda quiet then, so that may have played a part in the attentiveness, or maybe that's how it always is.

Hubs and I spent an afternoon @ Maho and I had such a great time relaxing, snorkeling and hitting back lots of Red Stripe...what a way to spend a day!! Mind you the weather was very iffy for the most part so we did not get to snorkle as much as usual :( We made the best of it though and if anything we were happy for the residents as the cisterns were getting filled!

Oh and I met one of STJ's famous residents...STJ Ruth! If you're reading this Ruth, THANKS again for that inaugural issue of STJ magazine. Thomas & I really appreciate your kindness and trouble of finding what may have been your last issue. You're the best!!

We had plans to see Inner Visions @ Sputnicks but never made it. Maybe next visit.

I've been wishing I was back there ever since the day we left...

kathyzhere,
You're welcome! I knew you wanted the Inuagural Issue of St. John Magazine because of the article on Captain Dan and Donna Ristuccia of the Motor Yacht Cinnamon Bay. We've been on that boat a few times and really loved it. For those of you who are not familiar with this charter, here is a link:

Of course STJ Spice is a favorite, but for gorgeous pieces of jewelery check out Into The Blue & V.I.be

Jen & Osa do awesome work!

I'll be sending hubs to the website for my b- day

St. John Spice will be getting an order from me soon, as My Sweet Amys' birthday is coming up, as well!
I'd love some new ideas, though...
What's the " Into the Blue.." address?
(Sorry, I'm too tired to look for it now, plus you're response will give me something to look forward to!)
Thanks, and always

Good Morn'n, Afternoon, Even'n MJ...whenever you may read this.

Hey the website for the awesome jewelery is

http://www.intothebluevi.com

I bought a couple pieces of the Blue Topaz...a ring and a topaz/opal pendant and chain. I absolutely LOVE their designs. Sweet Amy will surely love it too I'm sure! What more could a lady want; STJ Spices and jewelery!

You both seem to be soooo lucky to have each other, just like my Thomas and I

Oh, I also wanted to let ya know that we tried Sheila's Pot (across from STJ Spice and the ferry) on your suggestion and MAN was that yummylicious and oh soooo much food!! We both tried the curry chicken and it came with ALL the sides. Definately could've made 2-3 meals from that and only $10!!! Hubs has hollow legs though so he shoveled it all away @ once!

Thanks for all the suggestions Jim and to everybody else on this forum, thanks!!!

Enjoy the weekend! I'm trying to plan out our next adventure which is supposed to be a cruise in December BUT I'm struggling with it now cuz I wanna go back asap!!
