BIL St. John Honeymoon Help

Post by alw1977 »

I have completed my pro bono travel agent duties. After over 10 hours to discussing my BIL's upcoming May honeymoon with him, we finally ended the St. Lucia/St. John debate today. In the end, the dollar ruled and he chose Caneel Bay due to a great price (who would've ever guessed that C.B. is a bargain compared to St. Lucia?)

I'm very excited for them. Since we've been twice, I can give advice based on our actual experience. His fiancee/new wife won't know where they are going until they get on the plane, and her only requirement is a beach and horseback riding.

Questions:
1. Is Carolina Corral good?
2. Besides a BVI day trip and a dinghy rental, any other suggestions for things to do for a really special honeymoon?

Ask RickG about Carolina Coral; I think his daughters love it.

I got my cousin to go to STJ on her honeymoon, and I gave them a whole list of things to do. They stayed at Caneel and rarely left the property

How about a private dinner in the sugar mill ruins? And/or a couples massage?

This will be fun for you... lots of opportunities for wedding presents, especially if you get a few people to pitch in.

We have been taking advantage of the CB deals lately $450 courtside rooms pay 4 nigths get the 5th free. Our American Express Travel agent told CB that it was our Honeymoon and we got upgraded to Oceanfront Hawksnest and a free bottle of Moet Chandon Champagne on ice was waiting in our room for us. She was supposed to say it was my husbands 50th but somehow the message got mixed up, but be sure to have BIL tell Caneel that it is a honeymoon, they will get special attn and possible upgrades!

Thanks Betty. He definitely mentioned several times it was a honeymoon when he booked. He opted to go with an oceanview room hoping they would get upgraded to oceanfront. The rates for May are insane - $325/night for oceanview including a buffet breakfast for two each day.

I will suggest the couples massage - thanks. I am so excited for them. I think they will love St. John and the beaches at Caneel.
