Mid Atlantic Snow Day

Post by Chet »

Who stayed home today? We had 4"-5" of snow in DC and there was much more up the atlantic coast.

4" of snow shuts down DC and surrounding counties. Our office is a ghost town. I rode my bike to work today...

Annapolis teacher here..home of course. Did shovel...6 inches of wet, heavy, heart attack snow :). Lots without power, wind & heavy snow = power trouble. So far we are warm & cozy & it is beautiful. Not as nice as the pic on the spice cam though. Probably another day off tomorrow I would bet..not a plow in sight yet

I really feel for you guys getting all of that snow on the 1st of March :( .

I am off work today because I got called in to work at 3:00am last night. I have about 10 minutes to get out of the house and flipped on The Weather Channel. Wind chill -8  . I sucked it up and ran out half asleep to start my vehicle before getting dressed. At least I didn't have the snow to deal with. Hope it melts soon for you folks.

I am an RN and work in the Recovery Room. We all share night call as there is no midnight shift. It's not a ridiculous amount but it really sucks in the winter. That, and only 30 minutes to get there from the call.

1/2" here in Raleigh. Schools closed. No streets have been touched. They're hoping the 22-degree temps will melt the snow.

They're right-smart down here

Chet...I spent 5 years in Arlingtom and remember well how poorly the beltway handles snow...would rather be shoveling sand! Take heart...you'll be enjoying spring sooner than we will here in N.E. Pa.! 82 and sunny in STJ today..."Oh, that a man's grasp should exceed his reach, or what's a heaven for?"

Snow? No big deal, I got a lot done since I was the only one in the office. Whining whiners whining about snow!

I went sledding after work and then hit the pub.

Cheers, RickG

I know it sucks for all you guys who live with rough winters and all that snow. We were supposed to get 3-4" yesterday. They closed all the schools the day before at 5:00 pm in anticipation of the "big snow". No snow at all! This is our life in the south, always hoping for one or two snow days a year and in SC we never get it, it's like we're in the dead zone and everything passes us by. I don't mean to whine, but damn, we've never had it, seen it, played in it, had to shovel out of it, been miserable in it....damn, can't we just have one good snow day???? Forgive me, I wish for what other people want to escape from.....South Cac-a-laki and never been snowed on!!! :)
