Leaving tomorrow - blizzard tonight - TR Day T-1

Post by kim&jim »

Yikes! Not much snow for a few weeks - then, bingo, the day we are to leave for our much needed STJ fix, the snow predictions are getting worse and worse, 12 inches or more. So for once being over-prepared worked and we packed quickly this afternoon and headed for Boston a day early. I sit now looking out the window at Logan's snowy runways from our room at the airport Hyatt. We actually turned down the harbor view upgrade so we could keep an eye on the runways tonight. Fingers crossed for our flight to STT tomorrow! A little adventure is always fun, right?

Yep, that kind of stinks...,
But think of the rewards-
The heat & breeze from the tarmac after you land, the luke warm delicious rum shots as you enter/exit(?) the airport, and then someone else looking for the luggage, as you are probably happy as hell buying that first round of cold drinks at the airport bar...
Luggage seems so much lighter after that first 'cold one'!
I'm truly sorry if your time down there is depleted, but take your time getting there, and don't forget to bring your
Smiles-

I'll keep my fingers crossed as well. Remember, if you do need to re-book, it is usually best to try over the phone rather than standing in line at the airport(competing with everyone else for the same flights!). I'd do both!!!

A possible update.....if Kim and Jim are on AA883 direct to STT it looks as though they are one of the very few flights to get out. According to the trackers they will depart in about 10 minutes!! Hope that's accurate. Safe travels you two.

Walked out the door this morning to hear the ROAR of the ocean and about 4" of crunchy snow.

Decided to walk the dog down to see the waves(we're a half mile away so we knew the surf was HUGE). If what Joshie says holds true about fronts around here showing up your way in a few days, get ready for some serious surf.

We're along the bay, I can't imagine what the outer Cape is seeing today.

That low pressure system will send us a swell for sure - predicted to be here Fri/Sat at about a 10' peak height.
