Jerseyboy - that was one of 5 or 6 radio broadcast shows he did in 78, and that one from the Capitol in Sept 78 on WNEW along with the Winterland show in San Francisco in Dec 78 on KSAN are widely considered by bootleg aficionados to be some of the best shows ever that were captured with soundboard quality.
I have the NJ show on tape, may do some googling myself to find a CD version.

Mary Beth - was wondering when you would chime in on this thread hijacking...think I may have to stop now at the risk of boring everybody else...

Either my brother or I have those cassettes lying around somewhere. It's right when the Darkness album came out, right? Maybe they're still be at my parents' house in our old bedroom.... I'm sure a Greasy Laker or BTXer could give you a CD.

I will have to do some looking but I'm sure I have one or both of those shows on Cd. Not that I participate in the bootleg trade by any means ;)

This is great! It gives me ideas.
I just printed this out so I can burn a CD of some of these songs or put the songs on my kid's IPOD's. (Won't they love me for that!)
Maybe I need to get my own mp3 player. :)
Thanks everyone.

I finally bought my own i-pod about a month ago, right before our last trip. I think it has about 17 songs on it. Now I have lots of new ideas to keep me busy for a while.

Thanks to all of you!!!

Another song I really like is "Sail On Sailor" by the Beach Boys.

Every time I hear it it reminds of the first time I'd ever heard it - as a part of the soundtrack to the surfing movie "Five Summer Stories", in the venerable Cocoa Beach Surfside Playhouse...those were the days!
Come see us!
