Oh HELL no Susan!! Especially with Haley along. She'd be pissing and moaning the whole time. No Ram's Head for me in June.... too hot. I'm thinking Salt Pond and Honeymoon (esp. if we have to run back to Caneel for more beer! LOL!)
Becky, that's funny about leaving your shoes by the dumpster. That was a good find for someone. But I'm with you, no blisters on vacation. $99 is starting to sound like a deal. Do you wear them around your home town or just for STJ?
Karen, those look really kind of cute too. Did you have them for SOTB?? I don't remember you having ugly shoes.

Is there such a thing as "cute" Tevas?? Nope, nothing cute about them; it's kind of an acquired taste.
I used to be a Teva's fan. I tried to get a pair with pretty patterns, but I finally got tired of the sand sticking to the velcro.
A couple of years ago I found Keen's; not any cuter than strappy Teva's, but very comfortable; no blisters. I had the Venice H2's in November. Did you notice them?
If you google Venice H2, you might find some of last years colors on sale for a good price.

janet
the thing i HATE about tevas is the big plastic strap things--
chacos don't have that (no they aren't cute--but i don't look cute hiking) but they are VERY comfortable and very rugged ( i have had the same pair for 10 years--)

< leaving on the 22nd of march...but too lame to figure out the ticker thing again!>
Those are really cute and casual shoes. Do you have a link for them? I tried the website but didn't readily find them.Agent99 wrote:This is as far as I will go to forsake foot fashion for comfort. They come in colors, too.
I love my Teva's for comfort and durability but they are not so cute.
Going "home" again October 26th!
Love my Keens...prefer the Newport H2 style...just fit me better than the Venice

Take those and a cute pair of flats or flip flops for night and am all set for all possibilities....sometimes take a second pair of Keens so can have one for "dry" and one for "wet"......
Have worn Keens all over the world...and have yet to find a situation that didn't work as long as it's warm.... but have also resorted to the socks and Keen look but certainly not on STJ!

I wear them everywhere, probably to John's chagrin. It's too cold to wear them outside right now so they are my "house shoes." My favorite shoes are actually a pair of black dansko clogs. They might loook ugly but I don't care--I walk a mile each way from the commuter rail to my office (by choice) and I can't do that in heels. I keep all my dressy shoes under my desk at work.cypressgirl wrote:Becky, that's funny about leaving your shoes by the dumpster. That was a good find for someone. A friend of mine STILL teases me because I was telling her about all of my pairs of Tevas and referred to one pair as my "dressy Tevas".
I definitely prefer Keens now but before they were out, I was a Tevas girl...but then again I am not the fashion type...my sisters are dying to send me to What Not to Wear

Becky, that website of yours just cost me 447.00. I hope the return policy is good because I'm hoping I don't like much of it. I did order the pink shoes. Do they run true to size? I'm not sure I even have a pick suit, but they were the cutest. Thanks! I think.liamsaunt wrote:I wear them everywhere, probably to John's chagrin. I was trying to picture Deb doing the Tektite rock scramble for some primo snorkeling. Nah, she might spill her drink!VaGirl wrote:Are we going hiking on the next trip??? and you didn't tell me???
What we need is a boat day to hit all of those hard to get to spots on STJ, without endangering any cocktails. I'm not driving.

Another Athleta convert! They do have a liberal return policy, so don't worry about that. I love that website...I want one of pretty much everything.
Yes, the shoes run true to size. They are super comfortable right from the first wearing. Hope you like them!

Raising my glass (of Diet Coke) to Athleta right now... LOVE that catalog! I just got a swim suit from the clearance page - super cheap - love it. Also received a rash guard (white with a swirly pattern, not on clearance, but so cute) and I love that as well. Winter, Spring, Summer, Fall - everything I've purchased from them has been great. Unique styles and colors - always get complimented on their things. (Disclaimer: I don't work for Athleta!)

OK Rick, what is a teckhike scramble and why can't I take my sippy cup?? It works great for non spillage.
I'm so glad I have another web site to go shopping in my jammies.
Have any of you tried Boston Proper or Southbeach Swimsuits. (or maybe it's swimwear, either way you'll find it on Google). Maybe this should be on the OT Forum, but if any of you have any other great sites for shopping, I'd love to know.
Pia, I don't think I can afford or have a real use for your Jimmy Choos, but I'd love a pic. I have a real shoe fettish.
