Is there such a think as "cute" Tevas??
I have never been a Teva kind of gal. Just too ugly for my taste..........but I'm tired of my feet slipping off my cute little flip flops, especially walking to Honeymoon or Salt Pond. Any suggestions?? I found some that look pretty OK on Zappos, but I'm not sure they will solve the slipping problem.

Any other suggestions? They don't have to be Tevas, just something that's good for walking in the sand and rocky trails and don't look like something Moses wore back in his day.

I have these, in pink:

They are really comfortable for hiking and you can wear them into the water too.
Part of the soles are clear and there's a flower pattern under that part if that helps you think they are cuter.

It's like looking in your soup and finding a whole different alphabet.
I noticed Lands End carries some "mary jane" style terrain sandals and water shoes that come in a variety of colors - http://www.landsend.com/ix/shoes/Shoes/ ... nded&tab=9
I own a pair of Tevas but I also got a pair of Keen sandals last year, which I love! They are very comfortable and they protect your toes at the same time. The Venice H2 are the ones I got:

I've got my eyes on these. I figure they will do for boating and walking to the beach. I would really like to find some that are not so "look at my big bright shoes" though!

LOVE LOVE LOVE the Keens! I have a couple pair of the H2's and I leave the Teva's at home. I like the toe protection that the Keens offer and they are SUPER comfortable.
Honestly that's all I bring to STJ besides one other pair of Flip Flops for night's out when I want something less "sporty."
That's as dressed up as I get with my Eliza B Flip Flops for night and Keens by day.
Occasionally you can find some pretty good deals on Keens a very good price would be around $50 and that's CHEAP.

*Another fine scatterbrained production

Deb, I have these and they are SO comfortable. I have gotten them wet and sandy and they hold up just fine. When it gets closer to summer, they should have lots more color choices available...and they are under $30 so you can have more than one!

I have the Land's End water shoes for toe protected walking, and a pair of Teva sandals for towning around. Yeah, the Tevas are oogly but then I'm no beauty either, and I got them at a ridiculous giveaway price on sale at REI.
Come to think of it I got the $40 Land's End water shoes for $14 at the local store, they were a catalog return and in perfect condition.
I guess I am just a cheapie who likes to buy oogly things on sale

If you are patient, Sears, which carries Lands End, starts dumping LE seasonal footwear (and other clothing) at a pretty sharp rate at the end of the season. I picked up some trekker quasi sandals in early September for 70% off lowest marked price - about $8. Unfortunately we are totally out of sync for summer shoes right now. If you are looking for some snow boots... now is the time.
Nope, I never had an issue with sand, and I would have them on while walking in sand, in the water, etc. Sand in my shoes drives me nuts, but for some reason it did not accumulate in these shoes.cypressgirl wrote:I wonder about sand getting in the toe area and driving me nuts. Is that not a problem? The Lands End look similar.
I've tried a couple of the Land's End shoes--their water shoes and a pair of their walking sandals, and I got blisters from both. I left them next to a St. John dumpster for someone else to try! I love Land's End bathing suits though.
