We've always done the rag top Vitara 2 door and have had no complaints. As folks who "know" me on this board, I go everywhere, including pushing the envelope sometimes. For 2 people they are quite comfortable. I never really experienced the lack of power except one time when we [uncharacteristicly] had the a/c on in a totally ragged out Vitara that we got from Cool Breeze on short notice. In fairness to Suzuki, that car had around 80k miles on it and was ready for Dr. Kervorkian Motor Works, but it served us well for 2 weeks. It was so rough that Cool Breeze even said it was ok to put the top down!

We like the Vitara ... just good for two people. They park and ride great. We rent from Courtesy ...they are very nice to work with.

Have a good weekend!

Vitara getting long in the tooth

Post by Bosco »

I actually prefer the little 2 door Vitara. The only problem is, Suzuki doesnt make them anymore, so, for the Rental companies that still have them, they are getting OLD. At least the one I rented last December was (I didn't rent it from courtesy).

Cool Breeze rents the newer Suzuki SX4.

I had to do that also, but only so I could get a good view over the dash board. I am 5'6". The 2Dr Vitara was much better for a short person, IMO.

We have always rented a Wrangler. It's part of the fun. We go anywhere and find that there's plenty of good traction around those tight turns even in wet weather.

We also like the option of 4WD it's gotten us out of a few tight spots.

The Wrangler is ideal for 2. Crammed with 4.
*Another fine scatterbrained production
