Great report! I always love your foodie reviews.
We've now been down twice in December and I have to agree. The nice thing is the temps -- you're not sweating your ass off and the skeeters are not as bad.
I always have to pack a long sleeve t-shirt and a sweatshirt for the evenings just in case it gets too cool.
Teh one thing I can't get over is the water temps. They are so much cooler and it does make it less comfortable than in summer.
ALl in all it is nice to be lying on a beach somewhere knowing it's snowing and/or cold at home.
I also think re-entry to the real world is harder.
We've mostly travleed in late spring and early summer and going to STJ was really a jump start on the summer. But coming back to winter is harsh.
I also notice that there's less beach in the winter which probably adds to the crowds!
Anyway, great report! Thanks for sharing!

*Another fine scatterbrained production
Hi Becky---Just read all three of your reports last night and this A.M. Really amazing job---loved the food reviews, food porn, underwater shots,off-season comparisons, i-tunes list. Sorry to hear about the empty upscale restaurants but unfortunately its no surprise. We also stayed in Unit 2 (ocean view upper) at Gallows for a few nights last March (honestly cannot recall if it was 2C or 2D). We loved that location, but I can understand wanting a little more space and privacy for 10 days. Thanks for taking so much time to post!
---Jim
Thanks for the great TRs, you do an outstanding job!
Cheers to you and yours...
