Natural beauty
Kerala is a land of great natural beauty. From the majestic heights of the Western Ghats the country undulates westward presenting a vista of silent valleys clothed in the richest green. Among the many rivers that glide across the plains to merge their waters with the Arabian Sea, the more important are the Periyar, the Pamba and the Bharatha puzha. The elegant waterfalls at Athirampally near Trichur are a popular tourist spot. Along the coast, sand dunes shelter a linked chain of lagoons and backwaters the still waters of which are studded with sea-gulls and country canoes plying at a snails pace. The silence of the clear skies is broken only by the coos of koels, a type of cuckoo, and the frequent flutter of cranes perched on the embankments. The highest peak of peninsular India Annai Mudi is located in this state. The scenic Thekkady Wild Life Sanctuary is a popular vacation destination for nature lovers.
The climate is equable and varies little from season to season. The temperature normally ranges from 80 to 90 F in the plains but drops to about 70 F in the highlands. The state gets its due share of both the southwest as well as the northeast monsoons, and the rainfall is heavy, averaging around 118 inches annually.
At Thekkady Wild life Sanctuary is located in Idukki in the beautiful and picturesque state of Kerala. It’s about 160 miles from Thiruvananthapuram (Trivandrum) and is near the Kerala- Tamil Nadu border. It lies on the Western Ghats and is aprroximately 4000-5000 ft above sea-level.
One can see deer’s, monkeys, and tigers, herds of elephants and other exotic flora and fauna here. A boat ride in the lake surrounding the sanctuary gives one an opportunity to see the animals. This lake is unique in the sense it is manmade and one can see partially submerged tree-trunks in the lake. For the more adventurous, trekking into the jungle would be an exciting thing to do.
There are bus regular bus services from the major towns and cities in kerala to Thekkady. The Kerala Tourism Development Cooperation (KTDC) also have some tourist packages for vacationing in Thekkady.

Wakey, great question about the jet skis. I really need to know that before I book my trip there.
Also, any information about snorkeling, boat trips and tropical drinks would be greatly appreciated.
And who has the best ribs. I would like to know that also before I purchase my tickets. I would like to do that within the week, so please answer as soon as possible.
