iphone (or ipod) geeks....Car integration

I want to install something in my car to integrate my iphone (preferably) or my ipod mini into the stereo. Car doesn't have bluetooth so something that would add that as well would be even better.

Any suggestions? My old car had a dealer installed jack in the glove box that allowed me to control my ipod mini through the steering wheel controls. But I have a different car now and don't know if anything like this exists for the iphone. I see a ton of stuff online but it just confuses me.

Hubby has a parrot system and LOVES it I was just wondering if there is something else that would integrate into the factory stereo steering control.

Ive never seen or heard anything wireless that was worth a crap.

See if your car stereo has an extra analog input or even better a digital input.

Might have to go to a car stereo place if you don't know any geeky teenagers.

Kensington makes a cool mount...it's name escapes me at the moment, but it charges and has a cable for the audio, but it looks like that won't help you without that input jack.

Best Buy has a few different FM Modulators that will broadcast your iPod audio to an FM station on your car radio. You can go from a little like in-line one, all the way to one that installs behind the dash and plugs right in to your radio (some dashboard dissasembly required)

The one I had for my Sirius worked quite well.

Most cars stereos have a multi-disc player input in the back. The ipod connectors generally connect through that input and give you the capability to control the ipod through your stereo face or wheel mounted controls. You can go to a bestbuy like mentioned and they can probably help you out. You can also check crutchfield.com to see if they make such a connector for your specific vehicle. If they don't carry it then its most likely not available for your car.

IF you have a tape player, this is not elegant, but it works for me and it's simpler than pulling out your stereo.

It's a cassette tape with a wire on it with a "headphone" style plug on the end. Put it in the machine, set your stereo to play tapes, plug in your iPod or iPhone (both mine work), hit play on your iDevice, music comes out your car stereo. Volume can be controlled on the iDevice or the car stereo.
