I love her website. I'll have to try that recipe soon. Last night I did the dijon/tarragon chicken and cauliflower/goat cheese puree. All very tasty and fits with Phase One of our diet.mbw1024 wrote:I was just mentioning that recipe to Marcia. Yum I love those. Need to make them soon.
Brown rice is my fav!

CG You must stop next time. Fresh eggs are amazingCalifornia Girl wrote:Those eggs look awesome! Whenever we drive out to the desert we pass an egg ranch and I always want to stop, but we never make it back in time before they close, and I'm not taking fresh eggs out to the desert all day, cooler or not!![]()
I made a chicken, bok choy, and arugula dish from this month's Food and Wine last night. There's an article on healthy Japanese home cooking in it, and all the recipes sound really tasty. I especially liked the dressing on the arugula--it has soy, mirin, and rice vinegar.

It's like looking in your soup and finding a whole different alphabet.
I'm sitting here drinking my tea, looking at all the yummy pictures, and my mind is wandering...
What would be considered trolling on a food porn topic?
Or what if someone with Food Tourette's came in here and yelled "Campbell's Cream of Chicken Soup!" and "Nestle Tollhouse Cookies!"
Oh man I really can't look at these pictures without my stomach making demands. Sorry, stomach, you are going to be bitterly disappointed...this is some nice looking food here.
Edited due to spelling errors

okay, so i am a bit not sure if i can even post here--my food certainly isn;t elgant enough but maybe i can learn something.
but i made the mushroom brown rice dish that was posted by MBW ( i think?)
i tweaked it a bit due to what we had and all
(mix of shitake and brown mushrooms, a bit more garlic and fresh thyme instead of tarragon and some parm and pepper in the mix and Trader Joes has a precooked brown rice--so it makes things reallly easy)
it was really good so thanks
I'd like to share some recipes if it's okay.

Hi Loria,
Please post. My dishes are far from elegant, although I have been working on my presentation a bit. It's just fun and we love all contributions.
By all means share recipes that's part of the porn. My spice cabinet is overflowing after participating in this thread.
Who knew there was more to cooking than salt, pepper, garlic, parsley and Cruz Bay Grill Rub??

We went to the place that has tostones the other night. They had a fresh snapper with octopus special that my husband got. It was quite a sight; he loved it.

I had houseguests and really wanted to make the baked eggs. Instead of cheese and pimientos I used baby Maine shrimp, which is in season, and asparagus. I think I would have liked the cheese and pimientos better, though. Pre-oven:

I overbaked, alas...but next time I'll know to trust that they are done.

Blood orange, grapes, and blueberries--they went nicely together.
