Log in Question

Post by flip-flop »

Ok, this is slightly off topic but is anyone else having log on issues. Everytime I log in I have to enter my login id and password twice before it is actually recognized. AM I doing something wrong?

I am ok w/ just logging in twice but I was wondering if there was something stupid I am doing that I can stop?

It sounds like a cookie issue - make sure you have cookies and javascript turned on - some security software may have these things turned off.

I would like to hear the answers to this - I have no problems here at all logging in. If you respond, please state your operating system and web browser you are using. If you don't know what that means... don't worry!
Thanks -

Anthony, only seems to happen when I go directly to "log in". When I hit reply and it sent to the log in window, information was entered and got me right in. Same is I go to new messages.

Seems to only happen at the log in prompt.

Flip Flop,

That used to happen to me every day. I had cookies activated and everything. Suddenly it doesn't happen anymore. I have no explanation. It happened to me on my work computer but no my home computer.

I have the same problem. It was driving me nuts at first, when I could not figure out how to log on. Now I'm used to logging on twice, or if its only a quick peek, not logging on at all(That's usually when I see something I want to reply to  )

It just took me several times to reply to this post. This happen alot. I have window xp pro and IE7, security set to medium. I just keep screwing around until it lets me. I'm glad I'm not the only computer idiot, [at least that's what I feel like]. I think it's a pain in the ass sometimes and I just end up not hassling with it.

I have had some serious log-in problems on other forums that I frequent. The only way I could fix it was to download and use the firefox browser (free and easy to use) and it cured all my issues. In fact, I prefer it to Explorer.

I usually don't have a problem loggin in here though.

I only have to login once. If I want to check for PM's, an additional login is required of me. Incidentally, I only login to do that just that, check PM's or to reply to a post. Other than those times, I revert to my "lurker mode". 8)

Our home computer has us always connected, never have to log in. Bob always has to log in twice on his work computer, so it must be something with the cookies.
