We are going back to STJ in July.My family will be staying at Samuel's cottages. One place I would like to snorkel is Frank Bay.Would it be a problem to go onto Gallows property and use their beach?

Not a problem of entering the property even through the main entrance. You can also enter by the side by the gift shop. That gate stays open until about 5.00 ish.

The only problem getting on the property is when the security folks take over the desk. They usually won't let you on the property without showing a key.

Frank Bay is actually past Gallows, so you can go past the resort and down the hill and there is a rocky beach across from Elaine Estern's studio.
I can't figure out how to put the map in my post so here is a link to it.

Actually, X is correct it is a bit 'down' the road. But in any case check out Gallows since the snorkeling is quite good.

snorkeling all in front of Gallows is one of my favorites!!! You will not be disappointed.
I have yet to figure out how to get into the water via Frank Bay Beach. anybody know? Have only gotten in thru Gallows.
btw...TONS of nice, worn sea glass on Frank Bay Beach, for you collectors out there!!!

The beach at Frank Bay is rocky, but there is a spot that's sandy - just walk in there. You may find Elaine Estern from Coconut Coast Studios swimming with her two chocolate labs. On a Sunday, there were some local people swimming there. Some zen rock piles have been "appearing" on the beach at Frank Bay. They were so beautiful we didn't add our own. We were told that the snorkeling there isn't as good as it used to be, but it is a convenient beach with few people and probably worth a try.
