happy hours

Post by toni »

Anyone have recommendations for bars with good happy hours? We're on STJ in about a month and this time we chose to stay w/i walking distance of Cruz Bay. Other than the Beach Bar (a must do) we generally don't eat out much when we visit, nor do we bar hop -instead prefering to watch the view from the villa and make our own drinks. But we economised this time and don't have the view (though I'm sure we'll still imbibe some at the place!) Our goal is to explore "downtown" a lot more and try more bars. Figure we should still watch the $$ so aim to try more happy hours. Any and all suggestions will be eagerly checked out  Thanks!

Woody's has a great happy hour. Get there early so you don't have to sit by the Dumpster.

The Beach Bar is great too.

I think that pretty much sums up my happy hour choices. I think I did make it to Morgan's Mango once and the drinks were good, 2 for 1, I think.

They may not have the water view thing going on at The Lime Inn, but they've been in business for a very long time and they are very good at what they do. Definitely put them on your Happy Hour list!

Cap's Place - cheap Presidente's that you can drink where you wish.

I'm a big fan of sunsets. You can get that view from the north shore beaches with a western exposure - Francis Bay, Maho Bay, Cinnamon Bay, Trunk Bay...

Zozo's and The Balcony have that exposure as well as does Frank Bay.

Finally, beverages on the beach in town don't have to come from one of the bars, BYO.

The Ficus Bar in front of the Lime Inn runs their happy hour from 4-6 everyday. (I think they're closed on Sat & Sun) The drinks are half price, quite the bargain!

Best Mango Smoothie on the island, IMHO. They make a darn good Bushwacker too.

We tend to bounce around from Woody's to The Beach Bar. This year we will probably hit ZoZo's and a few other places.
