what/where is The Front Yard?

Post by mbw1024 »

I see it on Ruth's list of restaurant closings but I can't say I've ever read or heard about it on any forums. Can anyone tell me?
Thanks

Yes, I can see how that might be confusing! It's actually not a restaurant, it's a late-night popoular spot that offers great music. It's in between the Police Station and Courtesy Car Rental.

It's also set back so you can easily miss it, and Courtesy allows their renters to park there.

There are loads of other places you can go to. Look in www.stjohntravelforum.com under restaurants for a big list.

Mary Beth - if you could look to the right in this photo, you'd see Courtesy Car rental right there! They share the parking lot. :D

Ha, I asked this question over a year ago. Someone is really digging in the archives :)
Thanks, I know where it is now :)

I know MaryBeth brought it up over a year ago, but its timely for me since I've had The Front Yard in the "back yard" of my mind lately. We usually hang out at the Beach Bar, Woody's or the Quiet Mon. Thinking about trying The Front Yard next time---maybe after warming up at one of the usual hangouts. I understand its a younger crowd but I'll have a group of college kids along and that makes me feel younger. Do they ever have live music?

You may notice that these old links (this one and the "Gallows Point" one) have been resurrected by St John Captain and include links to direct you to St John Travel Forum and/or St John Villa Rental websites. Any guesses?

iowaguy, they frequently have live music. There's also seating outside, the rental cars get moved. If it gets loud inside there are chairs and tables outside. More room and cooler than Woody's.

Cheers, RickG

Oh, the "Webcam" thread is also an old one resurrected by St John Captain----also with a helpful link to the St John Travel Forum website.

ah... i know st john captain. He's a cool guy -- the type of guy everyone'd like to have a beer with on the island. i'll let him slide on this one :)

plus, he gave me his secret painkiller recipe. it rivals the soggydollar's. i owe him one.
