Take a hike...make the long drive to Little Lameshur early in the morning and drive past the beach to the ruins. Bring hiking gear, water, snacks, and a camera. Hike up the trail to Reef Bay Great House. Continue down the trail to the Reef Bay Trail, then up a bit to the Petroglyph Trail. Go see the petroglyphs and waterfall. Hike back down to the Reef Bay Sugar Mill ruins - it's pretty flat. Then head back to Little Lameshur to enjoy a spectacular beach with good snorkeling on the left.

This is not a hike for the timid. Anyone that does not want to hike can chill on the beach. The trees shade the back beach and there are a couple picnic tables.

You could recommend they get a book or two before the trip and plan out some hikes and activities for themselves, like kayaking or a day trip on a boat. Then with 2 cars you can each do your own thing, at least on some days.

The car per family (or couple) thing is key. Our first trip about 13 months ago was with 2 other families; we were all newbies. Each family had a car and could do our own thing in our own time frame and meet up at whatever beach we picked that day. Or not, if people wanted to do something else. It gave us the most flexibility and we were all happy!

Thanks for all of the advice guys! We are putting together a list and I have gotten a hold of my FF&FWD for reference. Luckily we are very similar to this couple and I am 100% positive that they will "get it". So, not too worried there - I just want to be able to give them the options. I think that they definitely would need to do a day trip on a boat to the BVIs. I would LOVE to do it myself but with our child it will definitely be tough. Hubby and I are going to be completely happy just figuring out what beach to go to the next day :lol:
