John is still sleeping so here is some more. The sharks are nurse sharks only. Don't want to scare anyone! The water is definitely cooler-it reminds me of Bermuda. Once in it is not too bad. Although I had to get out at cinnamon--too cold. We are snorkeling the haulovers today, having lunch at the tourist trap and dinner at la tapa. It's raining right now but looks like it is going to clear soon. I am surprised that the island is not as crowded as I thought it would be. Some beaches, maho and hawksnest, for example, are packed but when we went to gibbey we had the beach to ourselves and I've never seen a car parked at jumbie. The shops look fairly busy but not the eateries. We had hinds practically to ourselves-same at asolare. Another surprising thing in a good way is the visibility for snorkeling has been very good. I thought it would be murkier.

We are in the same gallows unit we rented a couple of years ago. We have nice views of the cruise ships that have been visiting. It is odd to see cruise ships docked off at. John but I will say that the windjammers are beautiful boats.

Talk to you all later!

Have a great time. When are you leaving? Will you be there over the weekend?

sounds like the snorkeling is awesome! I am very jealous.

FYI- not that you'll miss it but we have snow coming today, 3-6 inches in Boston. We'll be getting a little less north of Boston- kinda nice for a change!

Thanks for the live reports!! Thank God for reports like this when they are predicting more snow here in the Northeast. This site keeps me going through the winter. Thanks again for the fix. 8)

The live reports are great!

I've seen those Windjammer boats off in the distance on the spice cam-they do look beautiful!

Enjoy your trip and keep sneaking in reports!

We had another terrific day, great snorkeling at both haulovers--lots of turtles and fish. I have some cool pics to share. Weather is incredible here so glad not to be home with the snow. Leaving for dinner at la tapa in a few minutes. Tomorrow we are going to waterlemon and also planning on doing some shopping in town. I have to go stock up at st john spice! Plus, I think ruth might have a clothing store now also--there is something where at john kids was called st john too. I'll investigate and report back. I think we are going to plancha del mar tomorrow for dinner. Bye for now!

Plancha del mar is really good. Some issues, but they are new--highly recommend. Best meal overall so far. For comparison, we've been to asolare, zozos, la tapa, waterfront bistro for upper end and I liked la plancha best.
