Sunday Ferry....which one?

Post by ScottB »

Our flight will arrive at 12pm in STT on a Sunday, and I'm wondering if the ferry schedules are the same, and which one will get me to STJ the fastest? I know that Red Hook is a shorter ride across, but the ride doesn't matter as much as the arrival time 8) We will have carry-on only. Thanks for any help.

Are the mid Day CA ferries running again? I thought they had cut back on the mid day runs from downtown and essentially forcing folks to take the ferry from RH?

If so this makes your decision for you.

Maybe some of the locals can chime in...

according to the tradewinds news there is a 1 pm from CA and a 1 pm from RH--so RH will get you there faster

The downtown ferry has been back on its full schedule, but it will probably cut back again in the summer (if not sooner, the way things are going...)
When are you traveling?

A lot of it is timing and how fast you can get a taxi.

You'll have no problems getting to the CA ferry in time for the 1pm. But over to Red Hook might be pushing it.

Personally I prefer the longer ferry ride to the longer taxi ride.

I agree with Grommit. Trying to make the 1pm ferry out of Red Hook will really be pushing it. Everything would have to go absolutely smooth. So I'd go for the 1pm CA (downtown) ferry. It's about a 40 minute ride, so sit back and enjoy the ride.

Thanks guys, hopefully the CA ferry will still be running the 1pm trip in June. I would definitely prefer to be on a longer boat ride vs the longer cab ride.

Thanks again!!
