Good Hotel near the Airport in San Juan?
Continental has changed our flights, so we are going to fly from St Thomas to San Juan, stay the night, fly into Dulles the next day.
Can anyone suggest a good place to stay near the airport in San Juan?
Also, any suggestions for things to do in San Juan for the afternoon?
Thanks!

How close do you need to be ??
I have stayed at the Coral Princess - not fancy but has a/c and is clean. Some good local restaurants nearby but it is probably 15 mins or so from the airport by taxi.

The other one I have thought about staying at is Da House but if it is important to you they have no TV in the rooms. It is in Old San Juan so great nightlife and restaurants but further from the airport maybe 20-25 mins - let me know if you stay there

There is the hotel in the airport and that might be your best option as you will probably need to be there by 4:45am
anyway, not the best of hotels but clean from what I hear and that way you can get a taxi into Old San Juan for dinner etc but be able to get alittle extra shut eye

Hmmm, I think that the Condado area is too far away. Other than staying right at the airport I think the closest would definitely be the Ritz, after that is the El San Juan Hotel and after that is the Intercontinental. The least expensive would probably be the Intercontinental. I have also stayed there and it is really nice too.

I would go into Old San Juan for sight seeing and dinner but back to the Best Western at the airport to crash. That way you wake up and walk right into the terminal. Good luck!
I've got 2 tickets to paradise~Pack your bags we'll leave tonight!

Jo Ann,
Let us know how your day in San Juan was. Christine and I are going to spend a day (Apr 10) in San Juan before and after (Apr 19) our week in St. Thomas. I booked us at the Beach House hotel for both days and the rate was about $130.00 a night. (it is on the beach, right between the big luxry hotels, and is only 5 min from the airport)
