I had a wart once. I burned it off. It didn't come back. I also had a painful & ugly sty on my right lower eyelid that a friend of mine lanced with a needle, in my kitchen. That was @ 3 years ago;- no problems since. Painful as hell, but worthwhile in the long run...
Yeah, I'm talking to you.
Go bother someone else. Surely you're involved in other forums. Or do you just like picking apart the people who visit STJ? I doubt it.
This is a fun loving community, and if all you desire is negativity and challenging others' beliefs, go elsewhere. Maybe others on this board want to hear it, I don't.
It's getting old, and boring. I'd say 'exhausting' too, but this crap just ain't worth it.
People like you can actually embarrass a man like me;not because you find yourself so much more superior, or brilliant,or whatever(?), but moreso because we have the same common love for such a wonderful place.
I'm sure that you'll have something to say, but man, go say it somewhere else.
All you do is pick apart emotions of the people on this forum.-Why not go hunting at the local zoo?
Someone new to the idea of visiting STJ may just happen to fall upon an "off topic forum" discussion, and I hardly support the manner in which you communicate "at" people. Hell, I moved out of my parents house a long time ago.
Personally, were you & I to ever be in the same bar on STJ, I'd leave the bar.
Congratulations. You win again, whatever that's worth. Get over yourself.
Don't bother replying, I'm "Outta Here".

I need to say that I feel a little guilty about all this, because sometimes it has been me,
who has started the political discussions with one of my topics.

But I have some excuses:

- I’m interested in politic and I’m used to be able to discuss it- also with people I don’t agree with

- I thought it might be interesting for “my American friends” to hear a foreigners view, and it wasn’t my intention at all to be a “flaming troll”

- when the topic developed in a way, I didn’t like, I simply stopped reading it, which I think is a fine possibility to avoid being annoyed.

I really hope that people here will continue being nice to each other.

Hi Jim!

I don't feel guilty, when it comes to the way, people are talking to each other. I try to go after "the goal", not "the man", but of course it sometimes can be difficult to separate, so perhaps I should.

I could need a vacation too for sure. The weather just now is cold and grey, just the way I don’t like it. Snow and sunshine, yes, but not this.
I have to dream about Salomon beach :D

Take a moment to consider (and even enjoy) the irony here. Consider the simple intent of Anthony’s original request and then consider the possible motivations behind the subsequent accusations of persecution and conspiracy.
Are those posts:
a. intentionally provocative? (if so, very shrewd and well played – you got some strong reactions)
b. if truly believed, then maybe at best just a bit self righteous and at worst a little paranoid and/or delusional? (some might say thats kind of sad and yet predictable at the same time)
c. insulting to Anthony to question his motivations? (intentional or not? You decide)
d. some unpleasant combination of the above

Anything remotely political has become so third rail here it didn’t take long for even this post to devolve and for these patterns to reveal themselves once again. In that way, it well illustrates the true motivation behind the original request. So, thank you to those who participated.

The idea (from Anthony's perspective) is to draw as many peeps as possible and get the "hits" as high as possible. Thats how you sell advertising on a public forum. Wanna bet which posts on this forum are getting the most hits ??

Easiest way for all you do gooders to put a stop to it is not post. Then it would be Sox, Gina, SJNJ, and a couple others talking to themselves. Better than using the F bomb to make your point, child.

Can't we all just get along?

I do think that politics just isn't going to work on this forum.

Why not? Seemed to work just fine until the Liberals decided they didn't have much to say regarding facts and truth.

I thought this was an Off Topic forum. I didn't know that some of you get to choose exactly what is; off topic. Thanks anyway.

This is Anthony's forum. Here is what he requested in the initial post on this thread: "Everyone, can we just chill with some of these posts? How about off topic is food, wine, beer, books, art, music, sex, travels to other places, and things VI lovers share in common, etc - but not politics?"

"Some of us" don't get to decide what is "off topic." Anthony does. Why can't you abide by his wishes? (That's a rhetorical question, I don't really need your response.)

As a new forum member just starting out here it seems that there are a handful of posters that seem to always be negative and condescending as if they are the all knowing. Everyone has an opinion and should be able to express it, but don't put down others for their opinions. I think it is better off to not even discuss politics on this forum at all. Try using the PM for this. Some people just don't enjoy reading the debates.
Everyone just chill and enjoy a cold beverage of your choice and think before posting.
Chillin' on the beach with a cold one.

What I don't get is that I don't talk politics with my friends. Because they are my friends. I know I am not going to change their mind- so why argue and cause friction with people I care about?

And if I don't like someone I don't want to talk politics with them because I don't want to spend my time talking with people I don't like. Life is too short.

That is why I never post on these threads about politics. I am a big conservative. I am embarrassed about how people have acted and their behavior gives us a bad name. How can your opinion be trusted if you act like a jerk. Not that either side has been better than the other but you know what I mean.

I guess it is ok to have political threads on this forum, but to think that what is said won't "carry over" is unrealistic.
