Shuffle your ipod...

Post by liamsaunt »

And tell me the first five songs that come up. No cheating!

I thought this might be a good way to find some new ideas for music to pack to (which is not going well, by the way...I have WAAAAY too much stuff out. You'd think I would learn after all these trips.)

Here are mine:

The Pogues: Hells Ditch
Kenny Chesney: Be As You Are (SEE! No cheating!)
The Animals: It's My Life (That one is on there by accident. I set up an ipod for my Dad recently on my computer and my ipod automatically imported the playlist I made for his)
Nat King Cole: Unforgettable
The Coors: When the Stars Go Blue

Extra, since the Animals is not my song:
The Pioneers: Give and Take

Next?
It's like looking in your soup and finding a whole different alphabet.

FlipFlop: do you know the story behind that Phil Collin's song?? Years ago, when I was in high school, a classmate did a speech on the song and story and I can't hear the song without thinking about it. Very sad.

I knew most of yours, flip, but . . . liam . . . I didn't know yours. I put them in itunes and they are nice!!

Oooh...This is a GREAT song. Makes me think of my Dad, who passed in 1993 when I was 16. He was my best friend. Great song - it's why music will never let you down!

Joshie, do you have Buffett's "Manana"? He talks about Cane Garden Bay and watchin the "Light of St. Thomas". Good stuff.

The Fray played at one of our national meetings, I think it was 4 years ago, before they made it big.

I'm gonna do this real time so..

So while I leave this tab open I wanted to make sure all iTunes users have used the Genius Sidebar.

Click it and then select a song and then it will compile a playlist of up to 100 songs of a similar nature.

For instance select King Nothing from Metallica and it puts together an up tempo playlist. Good for the gym or something.

Select James Taylor You've Got A Friend and Genius puts together the perfect St. John playlist.

I've got 7,132 songs, many of them live recordings and if I hit play it takes nearly 25 days of continuous play to hear the same song a 2nd time.

See why I like this Genius thing so much?

You must try this, I give it an A+

Pearl Jam - Better Man
Black Eyed Peas - Sexy
Led Zeppelin - The Rain Song ~ 1975-3/19 - Pacific Coliseum - Vancouver
Baby Boy - Way We Live (Saints Remix) (WTF?? )
Steve Miller Band - The Joker ~ Concord, PA & Irvine, CA 1989/1991
Chris Cornell - Original Fire ~ 2006-9/16 BNN Acoustic Set

Here's video of the last one

Liamsaunt - How fun! My Juke only lists one song at a time (not what's coming next ) but with a little forwarding action I came up with the following:

A Face in the Crowd - Tom Petty
(This is alphabetically first and ALWAYS the first to play in shuffle mode)

Bittersweet - Big Head Todd and The Monsters

Got to Be Real - Cheryl Lynn

Driver 8 - REM

Deep in the Motherlode - Genesis.
