Paradise delayed :( UPDATE! St. John Soon Come!!!

UPDATE!!! The septic is pumped, the lines are clear and the flight has been moved to tomorrow! Better late than never. :) Thanks everyone!!

Well, we should be headed to the airport for our flight to STT. But no... we woke up around midnight to a toilet overflowing and possible frozen pipes or a full septic tank. :x Water all over the first floor bath, into the foyer, and dripping pipes in the basement. We've spent the last several hours calling emergency services (who will be here "first thing" in the morning :roll:) hauling buckets of water out of the toilet, and mopping floors with a dozen beach towels. And, of course, calling the airline to hold our outbound flight reservations, hopefully we can get this resolved today and be off to STJ tomorrow morning.

Our friends are on their way to STJ, I'll be watching the webcam to see them come off the ferry. Fingers crossed that we will get there soon! :D

Oh My... I'm so...so sorry! Hopefully, you can get everything cleaned up and fixed this morning and be off so you can relax... Good luck to you... Let us know how things go.

oh, that really, really stinks. hope you get out of there tomorrow--look at it this way--it could have been way worse if this happened while you were away!

That's exactly what I thought, too. We have a house/pet sitter who stays here and it would have been terrible if it had happened to her.

Thanks for the good wishes, everyone. The septic guy is due here in another hour, hopefully we can get this resolved and be on our way tomorrow. Will keep you posted.

Well isn't that just a crapper. Hope ya get it worked out and get on your way. Last time in St John we were doing just the opposite taking water from the pool to the pot. Would much rather have that problem than what you guys got to deal with.

Oh, gosh how awful! I feel your pain! But ours happened the day before we were leaving last year!! Same thing, frozen pipes in one of our cabins! Flooded the whole cabin with the exception of the bedroom!! The last thing you want before vacation is stress!!! Ok, now it's all fixed and over (hopefully) and you can relax and get to STJ!!! ENJOY!

Hopefuly you have gotten everything under control. Tomorrow will be a better day. Go to the Beach Bar, listen to some jazz and have an extra painkiller. It will soon be forgotten!
