DTW parksleepnfly
DTW parksleepnfly
We have never flown out of Detroit before but the price was right. So now any advise from those on the forum that have used the parknfly for DTW would be most appreciated. Don't need fancy (although fancy is nice) but do want clean and will need 14 days of parking. Anyone??? Thanks
If you don't need fancy, then Detroit is your place!
All joking aside, I usually have just parked in the economy lots for days on end and my car has been OK. But if you need a hotel too, you might as well do a park-stay-fly thing.
Nothing's really fancy in Romulus, so I'd say the Comfort Inn on Wick, the Days Inn on Middlebelt or the Howard Johnson on Merriman.
Double check with them about 14 days, because most places have a week of parking included.

Baileybay,
We have always flown out of Detroit, since as Rick G stated they dnt land the palces on the frozen north water...LOL Rick you are a funny guy
We did the park, fly, sleep in Nov & found it to be a good deal. We stayed at the Baymont. It was very clean & a very nice room. We did get 8 days parking with the first night of staying & then the other 3 days as we stayed the night we returned as well. You parked at the hotel which was nice not having to move your vehicle & it included the van to the airport.
We have also done the Ramada( as does Cptnkirk) which gave us the week of parking & I beleive it was about $6.00 for each additional night. The rooms inside are in better shape than the outside rooms IMO. Here you have to park at the airport in the parking area.
Hope this help, any questions, let me know.

I didn't realize the Baymont did a park and ride. I am pretty sure that my friend's family used to own that hotel (or could possibly still own it as she left working with me about 6 years ago to run their hotels and we haven't really kept up with each other), so if they do park and ride, I'd be comfortable endorsing it.
I have stayed at the Ramada but have never done the park and ride there.

Baymont has a max of 10 days for parking and I need 14. Comfort Inn @exit 198 Merriman Rd looks like it has the best deal. I don't know anything about this area(never been to Detroit)but it says its 3 min from the airport. Sounds good, am I missing something?? You guys are sooo full of info. I love this forum.
Remembering that I left Detroit four years ago next week (although I have been to the aiport a few times since then), the airport sits between Eureka and Wick to the north and south, with Merriman and Middlebelt being the nearest cross roads. As long as you stick to any of those roads, you will be fine. I don't think there is any lodging on Eureka at this point, and it's a little tricky to get into the airport that way.
I know most of the park and rides are on Middlebelt and Merriman, and it's maybe five minutes tops to the airport.

Bailey we stayed at the Comfort last trip it was the best deal we could find. Nice continental breakfast in the lounge and two dollar drafts at night when we stayed in Nov. You are litterly almost right were ya park off of Merriman at Comfort. They shuttle you to the airport from there. That parking lot runs a tight ship they will be there in minutes to pick ya up right at your car and when ya come back from your vacay they will be waiting for ya. Can't go wrong with Comfort Inn. Baymount was ok but Comfort is better.
