Ferry

Post by waterguy »

Talked to my friends last night they came back on Sat. Tried to make the 1pm ferry said the line for tickets was to the steps at STJ Spice before they got to the window they said the ferry was full. They were ok on time but there were quite a few people worried about making their flights. Leave enough time on Sat. to make your flight.

Thanks for the heads up Tom. We have a Saturday return this time. I'll be sure and build in some extra breathing room for us. Even though the St. Thomas airport stinks, I would rather be early and bored than late and stressed out!

We always end up taking the 11:15 to downtown.

Sure we spend a lot of tim at the airport for the afternoon flight, but that way I'm not stressed about the lines and missing my flight.

The ferry DOES run on Sunday's, doesn't it? This is the first time we have a Sunday-Sunday rental, end of April. It didn't occur to me to check out the ferry schedule.....

maryed - I was checking the ferry schedule last night too for our trip at the end of April. I think you should check the schedule again closer to the time you plan to go, as when everything switches to "off-season" the ferry schedule will probably change too!

We took the 11am ferry to Red Hook for a 3pm flight and, having a little extra time, got a smoothie and read the paper at the new terminal cafe. Much better than having to lug the luggage around CA.

There's a bar there and a place that does yummy smoothies, burgers and some local foods.

That is what they usaly do but the wouldn't been able if waiting for the next redhook. If your 11:00 ferry had let you behind and had to take the noon it would be a rush getting to the airport if all goes ok it is at the min. 1 hour from cruz bay to the airport and I never have any thing go ok.LOL

Don't forget it is in-season as well. That might have something to do with it. That said our flight out is the earliest we've ever left in June. 12:45. I am thinking we'll be on the 9am to Red Hook. We could probably swing the 10 am, but I would rather have time to kill than miss my flight.
