We will be in St. John 05/15 thru 05/24. Wife has a birthday on 05/19. Any tips on getting a cake down there at one of the markets?

You could order a cake from Baked in the Sun.
It's like looking in your soup and finding a whole different alphabet.

So the Painkiller with a candle in it is out of the question.

Don't give up so fast Mike. Most of us have heard of cupcake-cakes at weddings or birthdays. They look something like this
Imagine cups of painkiller instead of cups of cake... then all you need is some sort of candle raft for the top-most cup and Voila!

We've done baked in the sun birthday cakes. They're awesome. We like the chocolate cake with mango filling and buttercream frosting.
I have a painkiller cake recipe somewhere if you'd like it, but I don't think I'm ever baking in a villa again. It gets a little toasty!

I haven't checked the prices, but you can also check St.John Catering,(Mat is TOPS!), and Katilady.com .
Smiles, and you've picked a great way to enjoy the wifes' birthday!

So we have Maryanne and Hugo with birthdays on the 19th also. I will remember to hoist a drink in your honor while I am there.
Thanks for the tips on the cake folks. Now I just have to plan the escape to go get one at Baked and get it back to Lavender without her knowing. Hmmm
