WIFI in Coral Bay area

Post by Diana2 »

We are going to be down in the end of February until early March and our villa does not have wifi. We really don't want to be running into Cruz Bay to find a signal.

You used to be able to buy time at Donkey Diner but with the new owners taking over I don't know if that has changed. My question is where in the Coral Bay area can you use wifi and your own laptop for internet access?? Can you get wifi at Maho Campgrounds?? What about Concordia? Is there someplace in Cocoloba Plaza?

concordia has internet, not wifi--you can buy time 7 dollars an hour--
if you have your own computer you can plug in there at the store
< leaving on the 22nd of march...but too lame to figure out the ticker thing again!>

Thanks, loria. I had forgotten that were was a cyber hockup at Concordia. I was hoping for something with wifi. Our villa is close to Maho Campground so I was hoping for something a little closer.

We were there in December and folks were using the computers at Donkey Diner (new owners then!) and also Connections beside Skinny's.

I know that there's wifi at the Tap Room. I see people at Mongoose picking up their wifi. Does Connections in Coral Bay have wifi?? We really don't want to use a public computer so wifi is what we're looking for.

Rick G, I thought maybe you'd have some info on the cyber set up at Maho.

There are many unencrypted wifi signals in coral bay. When we went to visit augie at Reef Madness, I found 3.

What kind of cell phone do you have? Many phones can be tethered to your laptop so that you can surf 3G.

Thanks for the response, Mr. B. RE: cell phone/3G I'm afraid we haven't yet made that leap in our communications. Is there a place in Cocoloba Plaza where you can use wifi??

Free Wi-Fi internet connection is available at Island Blues. We used it when we were there two weeks ago.

I have both a cell phone and a laptop, Mr. B. But it's not the lastest 3G type phone.

We'll have a laptop with us, but I'm wondering where I can print out my boarding passes the night before we leave.

I print boarding passes at Connection in Cruz Bay.

On wifi in Coral Bay, when we were there in March Lilly's at Cocoloba had open wifi running when they were open. It worked, more or less. The North side of Coral Bay and the valley has good line of sight to an ATT cell tower with high-speed wireless broadband. We also saw a pay-for-use wifi access point run by Donkey Diner. Since then both Donkey Diner and Island Blues have changed hands.

The best wifi I've found on island is at The Tap Room.

Cheers, RickG

Is Keep Me Posted still open in Cocoloba? He had inexpensive internet time there a while back, wonder if you can plug in?
