We're off in 12 hours.......

Post by Jan&MikeVa »

OMG, I feel like a "newbie" going to St John......we are both so excited to have this trip.

A smidge of background. We couldn't do our annual December trip because of aging parent obligations and $$. Plus, in all honestly December 07 was very crowded on island; we just weren't so sure. Anyway, with a little careful planning, a generous Mother-in-Law, a good deal on a villa, and Delta's FF mileage we are off on a "budget" trip!!!!!

The bonus will be our last 2 nights on Jost Van Dyke at The Seacrest Inn. So here we come you beauttiful rock.........8 nights on STJ and 2 nights on JVD.

Looking forward to seeing our on-island friends and meeting some new friends at the BB on the 18th. We're hoping to try Salt Pond, Dennis Bay, and Vie's this trip. Thanks to all for many many tips!!!

Other than that NO PLANS and NO SCHEDULES!!!!!!

:D :) 8) :P :P   8) :D 8) :P :P :) :D  8)

Yo....Okkkkkkay..Take a deep breath. You can do this. You will make the flight and it will be on time. Eight taxi drivers will be waiting for you as you come off the plane. Your bags will be the first ones off so you can leave immediatley. The ferry which had just left the dock will see you and circle back to pick you up. You will be greeted by the Beach Bar Glee Club as you cruise into the Cruz Bay Dock area where flower petals have been spread in your honor. Two frosty Pain Killers are handed to you as you get off the ferry. You look up at the web cam at St John Spice and say "Wow I'm Back"...then you call me!!!!!..God bless...Bill

Have a wonderful time! Think of me here in the cold for hours sitting and waiting for Obama on the 20th. I know I will be thinking of St. John to keep me warm. The forcast says 38 degrees. :(

You are traveling my style! Go look for the octopus and checkered puffer at Salt Pond!and everything else it has to offer. I think the walk over to Drunk is so worth a little jaunt! and if you are more adventurous go on out to Ram Head, it does not disappoint!

Have a FANTASTIC trip!

You guys are so sweet, thanks for the good wishes!

BILLINVA: Buddy you crack me up, you must STILL be on island time......or in Fantasy Land. Rose petals on the dock, a ferry turning around for us.....hmmmm. Love ya sweetie, will call you from the ferry!

RickG: Mike said to tell Rick "I got a new video camera for Christmas..........film at 11"....NOT. We'll give ya guys a shout!

For all of you North of us, I'm soooooo sorry it will be cold while we're gone. But, I think that's kind of the point???  DCPHOTO: Have a wonderful and eventful time at the Inauguration. I really am envious (although I wouldn't attempt to go). Such an historical event & YOU are going to be capturing it!! I'll be looking forward to viewing pics that hopefully you'll post to the forum!

Love ya guys! We are both so looking forward to some serious R&R and....BEING ALONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :P
