Orbitz Air fare

Post by traveler22 »

Has anyone tried booking their airfare through www.orbitz.com. they are currently offering "Price Assurance" . The deal is, if you purcahse you airfare and SOMEBODY ELSE PURCHASES it at a Cheaper price prior to your departure, you receive a cash (check) refund. Sounds good but how do you prove it? With yapta.com you only get a credit voucher from the airline if you find the price drop.

I booked our airfare with Orbitz, and the way I read it was that if the fare with Orbitz turns out to be lower and someone books it, it will flag in their database and automatically refund you the money - after your trip! I thought.. what a great idea - but when I kept tabs on our flight - lo and behold our flight was sold out, so no one will ever book it at a cheaper price to get us a refund... figures, doesn't it???

See ya down there!
