How to attach photos and/or .wmv to a posting

Post by mcpenguin5 »

When I did my trip reports, I didn't have the pictures to attach yet, so I didn't worry about it. Now I am wondering... how do you guys go about getting your pictures in these posts, and can I attach a .wmv to a posting?
I know it must be relatively obvious and I am just not getting it, but I haven't been able to figure this out yet. Any help out there?

Thanks

hey! i can help you now--go to a site (photobucket worked great for me!) and upload your pics --they walk you thru it--it is easy--honest if i can do this, then it is easy

then after your pictures are up they give you options if you wnat to post to certain venue s--the last option is for blogs or forums or boards--just copy and paste the link and your picture will show up!
< leaving on the 22nd of march...but too lame to figure out the ticker thing again!>

There are many sites where you can upload your video and the grab the "embed" code - YouTube works on here, Vimeo, etc.

And this is in the FAQ (link above):

"Can I post Images?
Images can indeed be shown in your posts. However, there is no facility at present for uploading images directly to this board. Therefore you must link to an image stored on a publicly accessible web server, e.g. http://www.some-unknown-place.net/my-picture.gif. You cannot link to pictures stored on your own PC (unless it is a publicly accessible server) nor to images stored behind authentication mechanisms such as Hotmail or Yahoo mailboxes, password-protected sites, etc. To display the image use either the BBCode [img] tag or appropriate HTML (if allowed).

But same things for images as videos really - many photo sharing/upload sites have a choice to grab HTML or BBcode (which is supported here) to post your pictures somewhere else -
