Kelee,

The woman is my nephews wife...so she's my niece by marriage. We gave them a really nice waffle maker, the kind that flips over and gave their 9 month old a Nike sweatsuit. I don't expect dollar for dollar reciprocity because they are young and just bought their first house, but I'm happy with a $5.00 Sonic or Subway gift card. She, actually gave my wife something nice.

Oh by the way, My Dad's family is from Arkansas. I'm probably related to about half of Mt. Ida and I have relatives in Russellville and Fort Smith.
It's 5 O'Clock Somewhere!

Ron, I used to travel to Russellville and that area frequently, but don't have to anymore. I like that part of the state. The nuclear power plant seems out of place.

Bless your nephew's wife.

Okay, y'all....I figured "what the hell" and I plugged in the lava lamp today. It's been on for hours and this what it's doing:

Is that normal? I don't think so.<p>

Allow me to quote myself here (a hallmark of a most decidedly ego-less person)

It’s Christmas Eve. I’m sicker than I’ve felt in years. We get home from my parents’ house and start getting the kid ready for bed.

We lay out the cookies, milk and carrots. We sprinkle reindeer food in the yard. We wrestle the child upstairs.

I start getting her ready for bed as the Mrs. disappears into our room. A few minutes later, as I’m still wrestling, she calls me into our room. My first guess is that we’ve been visited by the Christmas Bug and there’s a beagle-sized insect in the bathroom that needs killing.

She passes me as I walk towards the bathroom.

I step into the bathroom and observe a few things.

1: Men really are at an advantage when it comes to peeing on things. We are way better equipped to pee on a target.

2: Our vacation plans in August just changed.

3: 2009’s going to be interesting.

No comments on FB or at NGD please.

Other than her father and his wife, nobody but you goons knows yet.

my most unusual (and certainly the best )gift (but not from this christmas) was sort of a backwards of yours--my daughter was born on christmas morning--the kicker was I found out i was pregnant with her on my husbands birthday--so she really did double duty!
