Concordia Eco Tents

Hi, I am thinking of early May at Concordia. Could someone tell me the difference in Concordia Eco Tents and Premium Eco Tents? They appear to be the same rate. Also, if someone could recommend one cottage over the other because of location, better breezes, etc? Thanks in advance for any advice. Snorkels

I haven't stayed there but I have a friend that stayed there recently. I'll forward your question to her to see what she says. But I'm sure there are people here on the forum that will respond. Have fun planning!

I've only stayed in the premium tents, but as I recall the regular ones might be just less space, you could ask to verify.
I stayed in May once and it seemed like a perfect time of year, pretty hot, but you're on vaca so it doesn't matter for beaching it...
I responded to a thread on this back on Sept 17, 2008, you could go looking at that, but this is the info I provided then that should help:
I've stayed at Concordia twice and loved it, civilized camping is perfect way to describe. The bugs and critters are nearly a non-event in my experience, but it could depend upon time of year. Keep the food put away, as the ants could come out. If mosquitoes are bad, and there seems to be no way to know for sure as it changes all the time, you'll want to get one of tents with wind, lots of wind, try for # 13 or 14, they get a ton of wind, might wake you up wind, but at least no biting bugs at night. You could try for a tent above 13 or 14, still in wind postion, but maybe a few less stairs to climb in the heat. Otherwise, enjoy the breathtaking views morning and night, you may want to just live there if you could. The cafe is very good, too.

Hi - We stayed in a Ocean View studio at Concordia in May 2 years ago and loved it there. I don't know which tents are premium, but the tents that are at the end closest to Ram's Head have an absolutely spectacular view over Ram's Head and the sea on both sides. It was really beautiful there. However, it was really, really windy all the time. So, no bugs and the wind would keep it from getting too hot. It was such a peaceful, pleasant place to stay and people who worked there were nice. We had a broken fan one day and they fixed it right away.
They don't have beach chairs available (like most villas have), so we rented chairs from Crabby's in Coral Bay. Can't remember how much they were, but it was reasonable.

we stayed in Estate Concordia for 3 nights, we loved it! the Estate's have a full kitchen, an it's more like a house than a tent. it's very quiet an peacful, the views are to die for. I think next time were going to just rent a villa for more privacy, an the same price,so do some research.

I know one of my buddies had their honeymoon out on Concordia and loved it.
I love Maho so would think I will love Concordia too
I am told that the food is great and the views.
My q is: is it just as dark as Maho?
I know when I would get back to Maho after dark, needed my big flashlight.

I will have less then a week on my next journey so and I love that side of the island

there is no size difference--the premium tents tend to have a better view/breeze and they are a bit newer--the E-tents are just fine and a bit less expensive--

ask for E 20 (or is it 21? ) anyway, it's right next to p-19 and is a great tent--i would also request that you aren't in the handicapped accessible (unless you need that) as they are right up by the road. enjoy concordia, it's a very special place

designbyroe - when we stayed at Estate Concordia a few years ago, it was really, really dark. We were a bit concerned taking all those stairs in the dark. We took several flashlights, plus headlamps we use for camping. The headlamps were helpful to keep our hands free when we were carrying bags or groceries or whatever. There are some lights on the walkways, but not enough for us to see well.
The good part of it being so dark was the awesome views of the stars. We would go up the road to the bench overlooking Ram's Head and had beautiful views of the stars.

Hi Snorkles,
We stayed in E-6 last month, which is not designated as a Premium tent. I had called once a month leading up to the trip to ask if a Premium tent had come available, as I'd read on various forums that they were the tents to stay in. But, I gotta say, I was happy as a clam in a shell in our "non-premium" tent. Just wanted to make sure that you don't stress too much if you don't get a Premium tent.
We brought headlamps - by the way - and thought they worked great. Enjoy your trip!
