I need a sunny pool
The last couple of trips we have not gotten much use from the pool - I am looking for a small house (just the 2 of us this trip) that has a pool in full sun - I want to be able to enjoy the pool in the morning OR the late afternoon. (early May)

I'm staying at Island Time in Devers Bay at the end of
February. They just finished the pool in November and I think they still have a hot tub. I agree that the pool is important and I think this location will be perfect for keeping the pool in the sun most of the day. I'll let you know when I get back how sunny it was most of the day.

St. John Passion on Rendezvous Bay had sun just about all day long (in December). I'd think the same would apply in May. Hot tub as well. Beautiful views too! Since they charge by the number of people you can get a 3BR for just the price of 2 people. That's what we did. Feel free to email/pm if you have any questions.

Andante by the Sea has a wonderful full-sun coverage for the pool. We loved that, as we were there in late November, and it can get a little chilly in the late afternoon for swimming if there is no sun. Lots and lots of sun...
The house is great, too! You can't beat the view, the kitchen is a gadget lovers dream, big spacious bedrooms and there is even a lovely hammock to sleep in on the lower deck. I personally was happy to sleep in a chaise on the pool deck part of one night while we were there, the stars are so beautiful, too.

We stayed at Coconuts villa on Gifft Hill in May several years ago and are staying there again this coming May. The pool had sun all day and it was very warm. This villa has 2 BR, but you can pay for just one. The view from the patio and gazebo across the channel to STT is wonderful. We spent lots of time hanging out in the gazebo and having leisurely breakfasts there. Their lot is fairly large and has beautiful flowering bushes in the back yard. We like the villa alot and its reasonably priced. Only 10 minutes to Cruz Bay if that's important to you. If you stay there, take care not to lock yourself out. The bedroom door closes behind you and automatically locks. (Speaking from experience

B&J in VA - that's interesting that you say that about Coconuts' pool on Gifft Hill. I don't know where it is in relation to Seawatch (same road as Cloud 9 and Palm and Skyway), but when we stayed at Seawatch in late June 2007 the pool was FREEZING!!! We barley used it because we froze our a$$es off every time we tried to get in it. In talking to Jan (Jan & Mike in VA), I think she said the same thing about Palm Villa's pool.
We love Argonauta for so many reasons one of which is that the pool is warm enough to swim in all of the time.

If you are looking for a little house with a great pool and deck, my parents own Island Dreams and love their pool. It is not a big pool, but you can swim up to the edge and just watch "busy" Coral Bay. As a matter of fact, they just called me this morning as they are down for the next two weeks and mom was lounging in the pool drinking her St. John Spice Kiss of the Jumbie Coffee, while I am sitting here in PA freezing my behiind off. here is a link to the website....http://www.bookitvi.com/dreams.htm

Coconuts is on the same street as SeaWatch and Cloud Nine. When we were there in April/May 2006, the pool was warm as bathwater. We like to do some stretching and treading water for a litle exercise, but my husband got too hot because the water was so warm. I wonder why the pool was so cold at Seawatch in June.
In 2007, we stayed at BayView on the Coral Bay side. The pool was so cold, we just couldn't get in. We had a lot of rain during that trip, so perhaps that made the pool cold.
Since we are staying at Coconuts in mid-May this year, I sure hope the pool is warm!

The pool at Calypso del Sol gets full sun. It was a very nice, warm temperature. I don't like cold pools, either. Hot tub, also. We loved the villa. www.calypsodelsol.com.

Wow B&J in Va that is sooo wierd. I was thinking maybe the set up of Seawatch with the bedroom on one side blocking the light might have something to do with it but Coconuts looks like almost the exact same villa.

I got in and HAD to swim around alot to warm up some. SO only got in once the whole trip and got out pretty quickly. I don't know if my sister's (Cat on here) hubby ever got in it more than to start to get in and get back out. Even in the hottest part of the day, it was FREEZING.
That was the only villa we have ever stayed in that had a pool too cold for us to swim in. We always are there in the summer. I don't know how they'd be during the winter.
