Forum Get Together?
How does one attend a Forum get together on island? Is is always at the Beach Bar at the same time/same day of the week? We'll be there 1/10-17 and would love to meet some of you helpful, passionate, fun people!
It is always at the Beach Bar on Sunday's as that is the day of their live Jazz music and we gather around 5pm
It depends how many forumites are on island as to whether it happens or not but even if there is not an official get together Sunday at the BB is still a great place to chill
Start a thread with the Sunday date that you are here and see who is on island and might want to get together

We'll be on island from 1/12 to 1/20, so we'll be looking to head to the Beach Bar on Sunday the 18th. Hopefully some forumites will be around to hook up with. But hey, let's check out all our schedules and meet there another evening! We're open!!
Pia, I hope we can see you this trip.........I owe ya a drink

Another way to go about it is to do a shout out to folks on the board and let them know the dates you''ll be on island then you can propose a location to meet.
But the Beach Bar is the general all purpose starting point.
Yeah it definitely helps to have at least one person wearing their forum T shirt or sporting a Koozie to let people know you're there.
Of course, if you're feeling REALLY bold, you could shout the forum greeting as you enter the bar "Meke Leke Hi" and hope for the response "Meke Heiney Ho!"
Maybe we need to come up with a secret handshake too???
Rick G or Ruth -- you wanna work on that one for us???

*Another fine scatterbrained production
Hi,
We'll be there from the 9-16th. I think the FMP at Miss Lucy's is on Sunday the 11th. We could meet you all at 5 at the Beach Bar and then head to Miss Lucy's. I think Gromit said to get to Miss Lucy's by 7 and get a table under a tree just in case it rains. Let me know.

Gromit, I'm more into hugs. I can pop over to your neck of the woods and try out a couple of variations!Gromit wrote:Rick G or Ruth -- you wanna work on that one for us???
turtlegirl, I just drop a note on the forum for a rollcall and coordinate from there. 5PM seems to be the best time to round folks up, but some of us like to start earlier, some later. I usually end up with a couple of mobile phone numbers from folks and we call each other and go "Woo hoo! What are you doing?" and such.
Forumites seem to travel more in the off-season, but I definitely recommend hooking up with the folks that are around - three's a party!
Cheers, RickG

hubby and i are on island 1/9-1/16 and we may just be at miss lucy's for the full moon party!
i can't commit though cuz our nights are determined by what we did during the day (as in, how long did we sit in the sun and/or snorkel? yikes- passed out by 9pm).
if we do make it, i'll start off with 2 quick-chugged drinks and be buzzed enough to walk around asking "are you from the forum"?

We'll be there on the 18th!!
Hi! I'm new- I just found this forum and am so glad there are people talking out there!!
We are headed to STJ on 1/17, and after reading this, I'll be sure we head to the BB at 5 on the 18th- We're a group of 5 (2 of us are couples, and a single friend), this will be my third time to STJ, but for my friends it is either many more or a first time visit. Can't believe I'm lucky enough to be going back to the ultimate paradise in just 2 weeks! Hope to see you soon!
