Brenda's Trip Report, Final Edition

Post by brenda »

Boat day!! We met DCphoto, (Mel and Sandy) and stjohnMike at the National Park Dock for a day on Palmtree Charters with Captain Brandi. We stopped for a little snorkel at Waterlemon Cay. Then off to clear customs at West End, Tortola.

Since none of had ever been to Cane Garden Bay, Tortola, we decided to check it out. At one point a couple of years ago, I had contemplated a short stay there. Now I pretty much don't think we would. It just didn't have a gravitational pull for me. We did stop for a drink, but didn't really walk the beach to check it out in all fairness. I don't know what bar we stopped at  . But, they had rum punch 2 for 1 and those puppies were strong. They brought the 2 at once, but I could barely get one down.

We then went past Sandy Cay and Sandy Spit and headed to Foxy's Taboo for lunch. The food was very good but it was the last place I would expect to have a sort of Mediterranean inspired menu. Captain John thought The Bubbly Pool might be working but we didn't have alot of the day left.

We then went to spend the remainder of the day on White Bay. Captain Kirk, eat your heart out. No air guitar for us  :P .

We also made at stop at The Soggy Dollar of course and then it was time to head back to STJ. It was a great day and went by way too fast.

We then went Mel and Sandy's beautiful villa at The Westin for guess what? More drinks. We sat out by the pool and hot tub and gabbed more and had some snacks. I think this is the latest I have lasted after a boat day! They then dropped us off in town and we grabbed a pizza from The Cruz Bay Pizza Shop and headed up the hill. The pizza was pretty good. We ate and then crashed big time.

Last day, so sad. We met Mel and Sandy at Maho. They did a little snorkeling. The chickens were out and I made the mistake of throwing one Pringle. They then of course wouldn't leave us alone. Live and learn  I tried to bait them with more Pringle's down the beach and I think Mel threw a coconut husk in their general direction. As you may have read earlier, Sandy and I both had camera issues this day, so no pictures. We just enjoyed our afternoon at Maho, then said our goodbyes. I sincerely hope we meet again. Same time next year  .

We then headed to Skinny's for one last burger. I just love that place. We picked up a sandwich from Deli Grotto to eat later and layed low and did some packing.

Long day home the next day, but no major problems except for the lost bag which was returned. It's so worth the long day anyway :) .
Going "home" again October 26th!

I was wondering what you were going to write about boat day  No mention of me falling into the cooler on the way back to St. John. My arm still hurts from that.
We can't wait for next year. I am working on my trip report. Soon come.
