Cptnkirk's Day 6

Post by cptnkirk »

Sorry for the delay guys but I got lazy and the honey and I took a little weekend get away so here ya go part six.

I wake to something I'm not used to in St John I'm cold sleeping under the stars out by the pool. I look over to the porch and the lights are on YEEEE HAAAAAA we got juice. So I head for the pool bedroom and go back to sleep. Well I'm up at the crack of dawn again and what a sunrise there is to great me. Go upstairs and make the Java and reflect on how lucky we are to experience such beauty. The rest of the gang slowly comes to life and I show them what they missed on the camera. Well the juice goes back out again. They must have thrown us a bone, which was appreciated; at least we had a cold fridge.

We pull into Hawksnest to check out the surf and it is much calmer today. Everyone is feeling lazy and we all agree to just make a day of it here. We love this beach anyways so who cares we already did it earlier in the week and it has good snorkeling to boot. So were just chillin cathing our daily booze buzz and what do ya know some louda$$ bunch of locals set up right beside us. They really were not that bad but they sat right on top of us kinda just crowded in. Were just used to having our space on St John if this would have been on a mainland beach we wouldn't have thought a thing about it. Oh well it's their island not mine So after about an hour we packed up and headed back to the villa for some quality time hoping the power was back on when we got back.

Back home safe and sound and we have power life is good in the neighborhood. We lounge around the pool listenin to some tunes. Andy plays some James Taylor, which is a St John favorite of ours for its relaxing and reflective quality's. We all sing to James and the drinks flow. We start to get hungry and decide to give Woodys another try but not before we get some personal portraits with a beautiful sunset.

We head out for Cruz Bay get a parking spot and head for some of the best burgers around. Low and behold they have one table open inside so we take it. Really wanted to sit outside and watch the show but hey at least we got a seat in one of St John's finest dive bars. We order our food and it doesn't disappoint, princess claims the hot chicken fingers are the best meal of the trip. Kids go figure but they were tasty as I tried them. We all got the famous greasy cheeseburgers and they were delish as always. I even got extra secret sauce for my fries, as I love that stuff. After our meals we head down to Wharfside for a little shopping to make the gals happy. Teresa picks up a hook bracelet she has wanted, princess gets a few things and were off back to the villa. I do a little photo editing when we get back and it's not long before sleepy time follows.

Love your report and photos, cptn.
Glad that you've continued writing - for a while I thought you might have given it up! I'm leaving soon to see my folks in Japan and am really hoping to read your complete reports before that. Oh, am I asking you to hurry? Hmmm... yes.
