The Curious Case of Benjamin Button

Post by iowaguy »

Starts Christmas Day. Its supposed to be a good movie, but even more important for me will be noticing the scene or scenes shot at Honeymoon Beach on Water Island. I'm still amused by thinking about Brad and Angelina showing up at Caneel Bay with 97 pieces of luggage while they were filming in the V.I.

97? Really? They must've had a ferry for them and another ferry for their luggage! Sheesh!

Wasn't some of that shot here in New Orleans?

I had heard that they were there and I forgot about it. Thanks for the reminder.

I heard that it caused a lot of commotion in the normally peaceful St. John.

Yes, much of it.

The film is actually set in New Orleans.

Gotta give it to those two for standing by New Orleans.

Not much commotion. I heard they were here, and one night they closed the bar at Zozo's so Brad and Angelina could eat in peace, but other than that, not much commotion. I hope they enjoyed their time while they were here and weren't too bothered by curious fans. I'd love to see the movie...but I'll probably have to wait for it to come out on video. Don't get off STJ to often!

Didn't want to give the impression its set in V.I. Wakey is right---its predominantly set in New Orleans and I suspect the Water island footage is pretty brief (but I don't know--haven't seen it yet). But Brad Pitt, Cate Blanchett and even a brief shot of a Virgin Island beach is enough to get me interested.

I've seen the preview and I am fairly certain that there is some VI footage in it. At least I am assuming that is where the shot of the sailboat at sunset comes from!

I would like to see this movie. I'll probably wait for the DVD though. I rarely go to the movies anymore because the people around here are completely rude and talk all through the films. That's one of my pet peeves!

I really want to see it. I'm hoping it'll be playing at the $5 movies by my parents' house on Thursday night!
