On fresh pasta, I have the Kitchenaid attachment that came with a options pack. The extruder works as well as any of those do, with poor results. The roller works well, but is hard to get running at a manageable speed. The manual roller/cuttter works much better than the Kitchenaid attachment.

Re: Jack Daniels Cake
I'm just checking in here after a bit of a diet-induced absence. I don't think y'all want a picture of my salad and lean cuisine with pineapple tidbits, although it was lovely. Really.verjoy wrote:Dear Lulu,
I made the JD cake you posted on the What to do with Rum thread. I put a chocolate glaze on it. Fabulous!![]()
Thanks for the recipe!
Joyce
Joyce, I am glad you liked the cake. I made all my Christmas cookies this year (OK, I have two batches left to make this week, plus two batches of candy), but I decided not to make the JD cake, because I don't trust myself with a dessert that combines my two favorite things -- whiskey and chocolate. I don't even really trust myself with whiskey.
I did make rum balls. They were super-yummy. I had one. Don't tell my trainer.
Maybe I will take a picture of one of my famous cookie trays once I get finished with them.
no pictures but I made this last night and it was very good.

I made those too last night Marybeth and had the same problem. I was about to toss them out then I thought we'll let me cook them some more. I threw them back no the cookie sheets and did about 20 minutes more, shaking at the 10 minute interval --- and I cranked the heat up to 350.
Nice and crunchy now!

Thanks Rick. I guess I'll take a pass on the pasta attachment. I still want the mixer though!

It's like looking in your soup and finding a whole different alphabet.
That corn chowder looks SO great.. How nice it would be to cook some to enjoy during this neverending snowstorm but I have to now go to a party that was rescheduled from Friday night, because of said neverending storm....
Some gingerbread cookies... I usually make a lot of cookies but I'm just not into it this year. Tomorrow I ice the rest--a lof of little men--- with a young friend.
