Shipping to Maho Campgrounds

Post by DuxDweller »

Hi All. We're in the final two month countdown now, and I am trying to (successfully this time) ship our fins/bug spray/lotion beach towels in advance. Last year I messed up and ($50 later) had my box of stuff returned to my office at about the time I got back! This year I plan to ship from MA directly to Maho (where we are staying for a few days prior to moving into the villa) before I leave. Any advice on how far in advance I should send it? Has anyone here sent a package to Maho (rather than Connections)? Any thoughts are appreciated!

I sent my package about a 3 weeks to a month ahead of time, just to be safe. My villa rep (where I sent it) told me to do three weeks minimum, just to be safe.

The other thing I did was put my name with the ship to address as the return address on the box. That way, if it got returned to sender, they'd just send it to the final destination anyhow.

Everything arrived safely, although my box looked a little worse for wear. Don't put anything that could smush or break in there, and you should be fine. They seem to like to smush boxes.

As for Maho-specific instructions, I'd just call and ask them what they want you to do. My villa rep was very explicit on how to mail things to her.

I would definitely talk to Maho first and ask them. They may be getting general delivery and may need to know to pick the box up.

We sent a box (without need to) ahead in November to Connections. Following their instructions, Priority USPS mail arrived in three days.
