i need help
It was always my wife tradtion to get a new game or 2 that we would have the kids open on Xmas eve last year I got fact or crap and apples to apples. We had a great time playing them. This year I'm not having any luck finding new games for adults to play and I don't want to let this go by the way side. We sit and play and talk about there mother. So I need ideas.

I don't know if you have Sequence, but that game is a blast to play.
This year at Toys R Us, the hot new game is Pictionary Man, and it does look very fun from all the commercials. However, I know our store has been sold out for a few weeks now. Another game that I am dying to buy is the 25th Anniversary Trivial Pursuit.

Tom, if you go here you can see a plethora of game rankings:
http://www.boardgamegeek.com/browser.ph ... ortby=rank
The game in 33rd place - Settlers of Catan - is one of our favorites. Settlers can seem complicated at first to figure out but after you play it once it is a pretty straight-forward game. We also have #53 Acquire, and #101 Blokus. Acquire is a stock market type game...kind of like Monopoly but better in my opinion. Blokus is a strategic puzzle game that we like a lot.
#87 is called Reef Encounter...I've never played it but it would have a STJ-ish theme

I'm not sure if this would be too crazy for the vibe you are going for, but everyone in my games group loves Cranium. There is a relatively new version out called Cranium Wow which is really fun. It does get a little wild--for example, there is one sub category where you have to move another person like a puppet--but it's hysterical.
I also love, love, love Pictionary and Scattergories, but they are both older so maybe you have those already.

It's like looking in your soup and finding a whole different alphabet.
Cranium Wow was on sale at Toys R Us for eight or nine dollars this week (It's normally 30 or so). I haven't bought it, but maybe I will see if we have any left.
I don't know if you have a TRU there, but they have a whole board game display right now because they are promoting family fun for the holidays.
(And sorry to sound like a commercial. I am trying to be helpful and this time of year, lots of people are asking for my advice on the perfect gift. It's hard being trained in product knowledge on toys this time of year.)

We love games too and have had a great time with Cranium, Sequence, Hoopla and Catch Phrase. Catch Phrase can be played by young kids but adults have fun with it too. We also had alot of laughs at camp one night with a bunch of other adults (after the monkeys were in bed) with a game called "Would You Rather." We had the "Twisted, Sick, And Wrong Edition" which is definitely not for the young or squeamish.
Not sure if you'd want to play that one with your kids, but there is a 'classic' version too. (Made by Zobmondo, gameoutfitter.com has descriptions.)
We have also enjoyed a game called 10 Days in Africa. They have versions for 10 Days in Asia and 10 Days in Europe too (no Caribbean, too bad.) It's not so much a laugh riot, but lets you spend time together and has a geography/travel element to it. It's made by Out of the Box Publishing.
Haven't played this one, but Worst Case Scenario looks interesting too.
