North swell today?

Post by RickG »

Windfinder says wind from the North today and tomorrow. Is it time to surf Cinnamon Bay again?

Based on what I heard from a friend on-island this morning, I think so...

"The swells are HUGE today. Walked down to Jumbie this morning- no beach at all. Did the Peace Hill hike down to Denis and there was about 10 feet of beach surrounded by tons of churning water and waves.
Wow. You could not pay me to get in a dinghy today."

Sounds like a southshore kind of day!

In Hull Bay on the North side of STT today there are 10-12' standing waves and many surfers are there - and in Caret and Botany bays as well. The buoy at www.ndbc.noaa.gov -- #41043 shows even bigger ones on the way.

I surfed Caret years ago. It was head-high and fast. Great break at OH+. sigh...
When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro.
