Travel Insurance
Does anyone have a suggestion for travel insurance? I threw away all the info I had from our 2004 trip to STJ. Thanks

My sister is a travel agent, and she recommended Travel Guard trip insurance to me. We have purchased insurane policies for two trips from them. Luckily we did not have to file a claim!

Guys we have a new partner in travel insurance - CSA - the link is on your left. You can get a no-cost, no-obligation quote on travel insurance from them. They also offer trip interruption coverage for renting private villas and hurricanes among other benefits.

I would appreciate it if you check them out while shopping for your trip insurance.

I purchased trip insurance with CSA just four days before our trip! We just returned this past Saturday (trip report is in the works) and never had to use it. There was quite a bit of strep throat and stomach virus going around my kids' school so I got nervous and purchased it. We paid $238 for a trip insurance value of $7400 (airfare and villa rental). Coverage seemed quite comprehensive, other than for a pre-existing condition at such a late date. This covered myself (42), my husband (46) and two daughters (8 and 12). I got a quote back in September that came in at $368, which seemed a bit more than I wanted to spend, so I skipped it. But then as the trip approached, I inquired again and it was cheaper.
The rep from CSA said something along the lines of: rates fluctuate from time to time, which was her explanation of why it was cheaper closer to our trip.
Hope that helps.
