Honeymoon Help Please

Hey everyone,
Need your expert humble opinions. We are getting married on St. John in July and are renting a boat for the week following. Can you please tell me about some of your other favorites in the VI's and BVI's. We are now trying to decide where we'll stop, etc. We definitely are going to Anegada, but no firm plans other than that. Mainly our plan is just relaxing and enjoying each others company, but I know you could give me some good places to visit. Thanks in advance. ~Tiffany

The Baths and the Bubbly Pools in BVI would be some must sees.

Are you chartering a bare boat or will you have a captain and chef aboard? We've done charters with crew twice and it's a really fun experience. Assuming you have a crew they can give you some good advise. Do you start from Tortola or St. Thomas?

I would add my two cents. The North cove off of Bitter End Yatch Club in Virgin Gorda is a nice place to hang, and on the way to Annegeda. Although I have not been there since they built that monstrosity on Saba Rock, what was one of my all time favorite places to pass an afternoon with a cold one or two.

Also from there you have easy acess to some nice deserted islands near Neecker Island where you can beach a dingy and just relax as nature intended.


I love Cooper Island. Not much there, but very peaceful and it has a great resturant. We bare boated a few times and we would spend our last night there because it was such a short shot back to Tortolla. have to get there early to score a mooring as they fill up fast.From Copper you have easy access to Norman Island as well. Good snorkeling and treasue hunting. I wouldn't waste my time at the "Willy T" IMHO it's overarted and better for the kids. Some 20 something usualy gets drunk, strips naked and jumps off the upper decks. But if that's your thing... no judgments here, have a blast.

Check out Cane Garden Bay on Tortolla. I've not been there personnaly, the winds we not in our favor, but it's supposed to be a perfect beach. If you are looking for some kitch try Beef Island. I can't rememebr the name of the place, or if it's still opearting, but there was a resturant with a guy who used to give a pretty funny show on Sunday nights.

Pusser basically owns a little cay called Marina Cay (i think) basically a resturant and bar and Puser's store. They have a lobster special one night if I recall correclty and the pain killers are quite yummy.

If you are doing Anegada make certain you get good waypoints. We sat at the bar at Neptunes' while Vernon Soares provided the play-by-play on how people were navigating the reef wrong. Vernon moved to Anegada in 1963 with his family and built Neptunes. Great people - and they catch the fish they serve there.



I would definitely hit up the serious sailors on their recommendations. The folks here are bit more villa focused.

I agree with Jorge. Annegeda can be challenging. Most chater companies will not let you take the boat there without a licensed captain.

PS. The name of the "dinner theatre" is "The Last Resort" In Trellis Bay.
