T.G.I.F. Underwater pic. - Your favorites of 2008

It's getting near the end of the year 2008. How about start sharing your personal favorite underwater photos of the year?
(Maybe I should've waited another week or so for this but we haven't had the "T.G.I.F. Underwater pic" thread for a few weeks now, so I'm kind of pushing.) Doesn't matter if photos have been posted here before - post them again if they are your favorites. Keep us entertained

. Before you know, 2009 will be here. Personally, I would love that because I will be able to say "our trip to St. John THIS year", instead of "next".

Pickle, I love that flamingo tounge picture! What detail.

A "macro setting" and patience - hence, the details. I have a couple other shots of the same Flamingo Tongue but they are not as good.

Nice to see personal favorites from different folks all in the same thread. The photos they've picked reflect their personalities a little bit, maybe (?)

OK, I bite

First I would like to comment on your pictures. I love the Flamingo tongue. It's so sharp and detailed. I know they are really hard to shoot, and even if I tried 15 shots so far, neither of them has been good. So good job with that Pickle!

Liamsaunt - your turtle is great and I also love California girls Parrotfish - so clear.

Now a few of my favorites, probably also shown before.

Thanks for your kind words, Maggy.
I tried to take photos of another Flamingo Tongue, a much paler orange one, but the current was a little too strong for me to stay still, so the photos didn't come out so good. Disappointed. It would've been great to have a pair of photos of Flamingos in different colors. By the way, an awesome Queen Triggerfish. Where was it taken?

Cptn, I agree - those schools of Tangs are quite eye-catching and entertaining.

Pickle, the Triggerfish picture is taken at a site called "The Chimneys" at the Dogs in BVI in May 2008. It was during my Advance Open Water course and my very first time ever taken pictures underwater when scuba diving. The whole dive was dedicated to taken photos only and I was lucky enough to see lots of different fishes and other creatures.

I still have to manage to get a good picture of a Flamingo tongue. I don't know why they are so hard to get sharp.

Maggy don't spend a penny download this link. When ya get it on your computer just hit the I feel lucky button and ya won't believe the difference it makes. Ya can play around with the other stuff and get it even better if ya want to.

Thanks, I will do that. I have a program that came with our former (now dead) camera and have used it so far. It 's called ACDSee. That photo was also taken by the old camera and I think my new is much better.

But I can clearly see the difference on the eagle ray shot, when you used picasa. I also like picasa as a web album, it's easy to look at.

I have not downloaded the program that came with my new Canon camera, so that might also be good.

Now, I shall not hijack this wonderful thread anymore
