From the oragne roofed house currently labelled Rivendell, "travel" along North Shore Road towards town. The next house along the road has a small, square, brownish hip roof line and a tiny hit of a pool. This is Rivendell. The house looks so small on the map because part of it is hidden by trees.
PA Girl...Ok got it now...I was thrown off by another photo...

wedding on peter bay beach

Post by former island girl »

Hello, you all seem very knowledgeable about Peter bay - we are renting Coco De Mer this may for our wedding - 25 guests - we are hoping to get married on the beach, but I'm being told the beach is too narrow..? we would need room to set up some chairs and a short aisle - does anyone know if the beach is too narrow? also, is the crabby man who harrasses people a local? should we anticipate problems?

Coco de Mer is beautiful---the little "amphitheater" would be a great spot for a wedding. If you want to get married on the beach, Trunk Bay is just over the hill and would be great. Peter Bay Beach was pretty narrow when I was there, but I suppose it varies with weather conditions. Do you have a local wedding planner/coordinator?

no, I use to live on st. thomas, so I'm trying to do most of the planning on my own, I have a lot of contacts, but none that seem to be familiar with the beach at Peter Bay. I will reach out to some of the local planners though and inquire about Peter Bay. Yes, we saw photos from a wedding at Coco, but we are intent on getting married on the beach. thanks for the info!

I think the beach would be way too narrow for a wedding set up.

When we were there (late Feb/early March), the water was up to the tree line at some points on non-north swell/windy days.

Maybe the water line would be lower in the late spring but I don't think there would be enough room for one row of chairs, let alone an aisle.

There is a wide-ish spot at the far end where everyone could gather (standing) for a ceremony but I would forewarn your guests that they might need to walk in the water or wet sand to get there.

I don't mean to further deter you but the path to the beach is rustic. It is about 50 yards long and cut out of the brush. The path is dirt/large rocks and rather uneven. It was difficult to navigate in flip flops.

Here are some pictures to give you a sense of beach depth -

this is in the area of the center of the cresent curve -

This shot is towards the left side of the beach (when facing the water), towards the rock monster house

The people are intentionally distorted (Hubs has a no pictures of our son on the internet rule) but the shot is otherwise unaltered.
