We're back

Post by brenda »

Minus our large bag and with a fried camera and no pictures. The camera took on water and the picture card is a corroded done deal. US Scareways lost our large bag  . This is the third time they have lost a bag in recent years. I'm hoping our luck doesn't run out this time. Re-entry sucks especially with this happening. DC Photo's camera took on some water Friday too, it just came pouring out of the housing.

Sorry, I needed to whine for a minute :( . Otherwise, we had a great time :D .

brenda - what cameras were you guys using???

I am so sorry to hear about your re-entry...it's bad enough you have to leave STJ but having a bad re-entry makes it worse. Having had one myself, it takes a while to get over that and only remember the good part of the trip.

Can't wait to hear all about the trip!

Welcome back Brenda. Your bag will show up in a day or so. At least mine did when AA misplaced it last month. Sorry about the cameras, I was looking forward to seeing some of your pics. Hope you had a great time!

Thanks, everyone. A little moral support always helps! It snowed yesterday and the wind chill is 9 this morning. Glad I brought socks to wear with my Teva's after we landed  .

Our camera was an Olympus 770. I'm not sure what kind Sandy had. It was a pricier, nicer one than ours. I tnink she had already downloaded pictures she had and her husband also had his camera, so there will be some pics. I'm sure she will post some of our boat day with Captain Brandi.

ksea, I hope you are right and the bag shows up! I also have complete laryngitis. At least I don't have to go back to work until Wednesday.

Brenda - I'm feeling some of your pain. My 770SW also sprang a leak on our last full day on the island back in November. Fortionatly I had downloaded to the laptop the night before so I didn't lose much except a costly camera. The other part of the pain I feel is we had 0 degree wind chill here last night. Hope you get back your missing bag. It's good to hear that you had a great time.

Oh, sorry about your cameras! That stinks. And your lost bag! And larangytis to boot! I hope you are feeling better soon and that your bag turns up.

Hopefully you have some adventures to share with us in a trip report, even without pictures.

OK, I am doing a little happy dance here. I just got my bag :D . We can always take more pictures next time. We just hated to lose the memories. Now if my voice would just come back. I'll do a mini report soon. We were pretty low key most days and just enjoyed not being on a schedule.

Brenda-
So sorry about your camera/ photo loss...
We have the same camera, and it held up fine during our trip in October.
Not sure what to say, except that that stinks. :(
Did you get any video to capture the memories?

HI Brenda,

Wow, your not kidding about re-entry, we got home last night about midnight. Our windows on our truck was frozen shut, it was so cold. About 22 degrees. I have photos to send to you. It was so great hanging with you guys. Glad you got your bags back, we didn't have any problems even though we flew through Miami. Now I just need to wrap my head around going back to work tomorrow.

Take care.

My camera is dead  I'm going to try and send it out for repair. If not I'll be shopping for a new one before the next trip. I'm happy though I downloaded all my photos before it happened. I'm going to edit all the photos and photoshop them and put them up as soon as I can. I have 3 big jobs this week to work on, so soon come! I took a lot of of you and Gary on the boat trip.

Talk to you soon,

Sandy
