Cptnkirk's Day 1 Report
Allrighty here we go I'm no writer but enjoy everyone's trip reports so I will give something back. We head for Detroit Rock City about six pm to stay the night at the Comfort Inn. Park sleep and fly is the way to go for sure. Ya end up paying about twenty bucks for the room and we all get a free breakfast. Well everyone swore they wouldn't sleep in the same room as me cause my snoring but being the frugal guy I am I talked everyone to just one room. To get this agreement I said I would sleep in the tub if it got to bad although I had no such intentions. I did bring my sleeping bag and pillow though. I made a little soundproof setup by the a/c heater thing by putting suitcases around three sides of the table and put my head under the table. Must of worked cause know one yelled at me or complained the next morning.
Well it's up bright and early at 4am. My little girl aka little princess was none to happy when I told her time to get up sunshine, that will teach her not to stay up till 1 am texting on the phone when we got a 7am plane to catch. Grab some grub at the breakfast bar and off to the airport. No problems other than Dawny could not do self-check in and forgot to bring any proof about her ticket purchase. She heads to the regular line and thank Gawd they get it figured out and the line was not to big or we would have missed the plane.
For some reason we could not print our boarding passes the night before.
It's off to customs and Andy and Dawn are the lucky recipients of being prepicked for a special baggage and personal search. They get thru as quick as we do cavity check and all hehehe. The flight down and all the connections went without a hitch other than some jerk claiming I had his wife's seat. This guy was obnoxious as hell and I could not find my boarding pass to prove it was my seat he just kept going on and on. His wife was not with him, she showed about five minutes later. He says here's your seat and she says I'm a couple rows back. He says to me I was wrong (no $hit genius) no apology whatsoever what an AHOLE!!!
We arrive right on time, head out, grab a couple shots from the Cruzan lady much better than a coin like last time. Head out to the taxi area and there she is waiting on us our sweet Rachel. I just love that little lady she's such a sweetheart. Off to Redhook to catch the 4 o'clock, made it no problem were off to our beloved St John.
Our greater is waiting on us we grab our car and head for Sea Dream. She gives us the lowdown and she's off very nice girl. We booked thru Viva but Cimmeron manages Sea Dream and the left an awesome little welcome basket complete with a pint of Cruzan. Andy and I made that disappear quicker than a keg at a Toga party. Got our buzz on and its time for some of St Johns best Grub UNCLE JOES!! Drop the gang off, cruise around the block, pick them up and head for Pine Peace while Joe's gets our food ready.
We don't have to pick up a whole lot as we bring most down with us. I'm bragging here but we got this carryon down to an art sure saves a bunch of $$$ cause ya'll know I'm frugal (cheap) hey that just means we get more trips to paradise. Oh no!! No Gilbeys for $7 for a litre and so we Splurge for Absolute and all is good in the neighborhood. Now let me tell ya a Ben Franklins worth of groceries isn't much on St John. Were off down the road and we all are looking so forward to our meal. Pick it up and back to the villa to enjoy pure goodness with an awesome view. Few more Drinks and off to bed anticipating our favorite beaches in the morning.

Oh I almost forgot because it didn't mean much to me but it meant a whole lot to princess. While were in line for some burgers in Atlanta making our connection this guy behind me says man these guys are slower than $hit and I just say yea without even looking at him. Well evidently little princess was checking him out cause when we give our order she whispers to me dad do you know who Pharrell is and I say no is it one of your friends she says no he's a rapper. So I look at this guy while he's ordering and he's got this really colorful leather jacket on and a lot of bling on with sunglasses and a baseball cap on and a Ferreri key fab hanging out his pocket. I say to princess you sure, she says yep, I say want me to say something to h,im she says oh gawd dad don't. So as we walk away she she changes her mind and goes I want to see if I can get my picture with him. Well I went up to his two homies that were behind him keeping an eye out and asked if ya think he would mind if I got a picture of him with my daughter and they said no he won't mind. So I fumble around and try to figure out how to take a pic with the phone I finally figure it out and get the shot. Oh my little princess was in heaven she was texting all her friends for the next half an hour I think it was the highlight of her trip.

Off to a good start! Can't wait to read day 2 and hear a little more about the villa. We were looking at Sea Dream as a possibility. Was there any construction noise coming from that area? Last year when we were there, there was a big project going up in Chocolate Hole (Pond Bay Club, I think?). Didn't really affect us up on Gift Hill, but was wondering if you guys heard anything.
