where do you buy your liquor on STJ?
where do you buy your liquor on STJ?
trip report soon come, promise!
We arrived here on STJ this afternoon (Sat) after a couple of days at Secret Harbour. We are now in need of a bushwacker fix. We are stationed high above Coral Bay and made a mini-shopping trip to Lily's for breakfast essentials and tomorrow will head back to Cruz Bay and Starfish for the 2-week provisioning.
So . . .
given the vast variety of liqueurs used in a bushwacker, where is the best place to purchase all the goodies?
Here's the recipe:
SERVES 1 (change servings and units)
Ingredients
1/2 ounce rum (Cruzan is the best, but use whatever brand you have)
1/2 ounce vodka (any brand)
1/2 ounce Baileys Irish Cream (or a similar off-brand name)
1/2 ounce Kahlua (or a coffee flavored off-brand name)
1/2 ounce amaretto liqueur (any brand)
1/2 ounce chococo chocolate-flavored liqueur
1/2 ounce Frangelico (I recommend it) (optional)
1/2 ounce creme de coconut (a MUST - "Coco Lopez" is best)
1 cup crushed ice (more or less to make the proper consistency)
3 dashes of grated nutmeg
1 tablespoon whipped cream
1 maraschino cherry
Directions
1. Put everything, except nutmeg, whipped cream and cherries in a blender and use enough ice that when blended will be the consistency of a milkshake.
2. Blend, pour into glasses, and top with whipped cream, a cherry, and a couple dashes of grated nutmeg.
3. Enjoy!
4. But use caution!
5. They taste like there is no alcohol in them and most people have a tendency to get"bushwacked!"
6. Haha!

best deals on stt
you will find the best deals on st thomas. cost u less does sell liquor and along with the shop at the airport, is definitely a great spot to find the best prices. the benefit of shopping at cost u less is that you can also buy cheap food for the week. buy some of the insulated freezer bags while there and you will save a lot of money by buying meats, cheese, produce, etc. to bring over to st john.
