Airport to Red Hook

Post by RedheadJane »

I can't remember how long it takes to get to Red Hook from the airport. We are supposed to land at 3pm and I would like to make to 4 o'clock ferry to St. John. If my luggage makes it to the carousel quickly, do you think I can make it over to RH? Or is my best option to relax and plan on the one from town to St. John?
Thanks for any input.

if the plane lands on time
if the luggage comes out quickly
if the taxi leaves right away
if the taxi doesn't stop at hotels along the way
if there is no traffic

Can you do it? Yes. Is it a sure thing? No way.
There is a bar in RH, so just go with the flow and have a cocktail at the dock if you don't make it.

Thanks Xislandgirl-You know how it is when you can't wait to start the vacation. I always just want to get to the house, open a bottle of wine and unwind. It takes me a while to get in island mode where everything rolls off my back. But the cocktails at RH would help.

just consider your vacation starting as soon as you walk out of the plane door and get hit with that tropical air...from then on...no worries, mon :D

sailorgirl - I agree with your friend; although, these days (with all the airline problems that make travel a pain) it really starts once I get to my destination.

Call Rachel her # is 340-771-2986 we got out of the airport at 3:15 and made the 4 no problem. She is very resonable and a sweetie and she is only about 5 dollars more apiece for a private taxi. The problem with the public taxi is you always wait to fill the taxi and drop people off and your at the end of the drop offs.Really doubt if ya make it useing the public taxi with everything else going perfect. Tell her Kirk and Teresa says hi if ya use her.

You would have a better chance of making the 4pm from downtown CA.

If you don't think you're going to make that then just aim for the 5pm from RH.
